Needing some ideas for a big present this year and also stocking filler type ideas. She quite likes craft things so I bought the make your own friendship bracelet set as mentioned here on MN. I also have a new writing set for her as she loved the one she got last year and used it a lot to send letters to family etc. Also books

But other than that I am struggling. What else can I get her that she can entertain herself with? And what to get for her main present??

When DD was that age her grandparents bought her a little desk and all kinds of office type supplies...stapler, sticky notes, tape dispenser, calculator, paper clips, note pads, pens and pancils etc. She loved it!

The natural science museum do a great hand held microscope. It's really good quality and cheap. My dd loved going round looking at everything up close.

My son had No Stress Chess for his 7th birthday- it's brilliant, so easy to learn and he's playing chess properly now. Look on eBay if you fancy it.

She's also having a Rock Tumbler, Globe and Telescope - any of these any good?
