If you were in primary school about 35 years ago, do you remember this and can't you still get them?

DS is 5 and all of a sudden since starting school loves drawing and painting. We have promised paints for Christmas. Now, do you remember the little clear pots with the hole in the top, just big enough to fit a paint brush? Can you still get these?

Yes I have some. Got them from Woolworths though.

NickNacks · 24/11/2013 16:33

I got some from yellow moon, pack of 4, with colour coded tops :)

BikeRunSki · 24/11/2013 16:40

Yes, ELC, Wilko, Sainsbury's..... Anywhere that sells kids art stuff really.

We have them, but tend to use egg boxes as paint pots instead as there's no washing up!

lucysmam · 24/11/2013 17:38

Poundland had some last time I was in there, four for a quid, can't go wrong Smile

LoveandLife · 24/11/2013 17:45

Yes, ELC have them and I bought them for my DCs when they were small.

Honestly? more trouble than they're worth. They still knock them over, can pour the paint all over themselves when they jerk the whole pot towards them as they pull the paintbrush out iyswim and a pain to wash up.

Agree with Bike, egg boxes or yogurt pots are much more useful. Just don't put too much paint in.

LIZS · 24/11/2013 17:46

Galt do them

ThermoLobster · 24/11/2013 17:49

Thanks a lot OP! Saw the title and thought - at school 35 years ago? I am way too young for that! Followed by realisation that I am not!

EdithWeston · 24/11/2013 17:58

I think I got mine at Roy's of Wroxham.

A brilliant shop, and any excuse to vist in the run up to Christmas would be welcome. (Not a terribly useful recommendation if you have no reason to vsit Norfolk, though)

Calamityjude · 24/11/2013 19:37

ooh I love 'Roys of Wroxham' thanks for bringing back fond memories of norfolk, EdithWeston

Groovee · 24/11/2013 19:38

Hobby craft have them

usualsuspect · 24/11/2013 19:39

Wilkinson sell them

They're rubbish.

You want one of those circular white trays with 7 different coloured pots in - red, yellow, blue, green, black, white & clear.

They don't fall over.
The pots have smaller base, so it takes less paint to load the paint brush in the pot.
Super easy to wash.

Cost a couple of quid from the craft aisle is Tesco's etc.
