His birthday is the 23rd, I'm getting him a book of his favourite football teams history personalised from his birth date.

BillyBanter · 24/11/2013 12:29

Slippers from the boys and a school dinners cook book.

Slippers are a little joke as he has found it hard becoming a granddad - I was 28 and he was 52 when ds1 was born four years ago Confused - but is getting better hence time for comfortable footwear!

Trills · 24/11/2013 12:38

My backup (if he doesn't suggest something) is a magazine subscription for something to d with this year's main hobby.

One ear it was sea fishing. This year gardening.

PontyPants · 24/11/2013 12:39

I think mine is taking my mum on holiday for some Jan sun, so I am thinking about making a travel hamper - sun tan lotion, blockbuster books (though he has a kindle - I wonder if you can gift to a kindle??) and erm…
I dunno what else. (as I don't know where they are going yet so can't get a travel guide)
Maybe some flip-flops for by the pool or something

Hmm

I'm getting mine some rum, tickets for a show, choc and bubble bath.

EmGee · 24/11/2013 12:58

A year's subscription to The Week. He loves it!

ZombieBelle · 24/11/2013 13:12

lego (the lord of the rings wizard battle set as my mums bought him helms deep)

Puffykins · 24/11/2013 19:14

Whiskey, and chocolate. And maybe some Badedas. It's all he wants, really.

Rubybrazilianwax · 24/11/2013 19:22

I bought him the plectrum maker and I'll get him itunes voucher (he's quite hip for 66) and then a bag of foody stuff.

Umpire · 24/11/2013 19:26

My Dad is not hip. A pair of scissors and a box of bic biros, that's what he asked for. Well, the scissors he asked for, I'm padding it out with the biros. But I wouldn't want to go overboard. He'll tut if I spend too much.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2013 19:29

A bottle of single malt - the same as I get him every year! It's his birthday on Christmas Eve too though, and I don't know what to get him for that.

Jbck · 24/11/2013 19:34

Oliver Stone's history of America box set, pjs (he's asked for them bless) and travel vouchers, my Mum is getting travel vouchers too as part of her gifts.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2013 19:34

A blueberry plant and a pinkberry plant plus a home made hamper of yummy food (savoury bits).

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 24/11/2013 19:40

A car cover for his 'project'
And the Jack Reacher film

Amazon voucher to buy kindle books?

Ellypoo · 24/11/2013 22:26

A t shirt from Debenhams (in sale!), a framed pic of DD (her 1st Christmas so everyone is getting one!!!) and a plate with her footprints on (although we may keep that!!), but he hasn't told me what he wants yet so there will prob be a book/CD/DVD as well.
