Dd is 4. I'm pretty sick of buying her things she doesn't play with! She's not really into imaginative play. Playmobil, brio etc all ignored. She does LOVE crafts though. She has a little table and chairs which she is permanently stationed at - drawing, cutting, sticking :o
Quite likes books but we have tonnes. Likes board games etc too.

The problem I'm having is that ds has a BIG (in size) gift (coming down from the attic - it was dds Blush ) and that I can't think of anything that is going to have wow factor / look fab under the tree for dd.

At the moment I have on dds list:
lots of little crafty bits, pattern cutting scissors, stickers etc
Maybe a fluffy dressing gown as she needs a new one?

I would just like something that looks a bit "special" !

Help!!

A substantial storage solution to keep it all in - we have the ikea trofast. You could sell it as Mr Maker drawers.

an easel?

You could get her a "grown up" art set , like a wooden flip open one . My DD has one and is the same age

A big colour in play house?

Shamoy · 23/11/2013 20:43

Big set if drawers or some kind of storage and fill it with every kind of craft supply!

NorbertDentressangle · 23/11/2013 20:44

Like 3bunnies I was going to suggest some drawers/storage.

When DD was about 4 or 5 my Mum bought her some drawers on wheels that she filled with bits and pieces of arts and crafts materials.

If the drawers are a bit plain you could customise them.

BikeRunSki · 23/11/2013 20:45

I was also going to suggest an easel.

These classic <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/products/moppe-mini-chest-of-drawers__0135959_PE292948_S4.JPG&imgrefurl=www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40216357/&h=500&w=500&sz=37&tbnid=QGxkC0RSMZhQrM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=98&zoom=1&usg=__oQ8GoolDOjpSrnxrxmVHE6xVmu0=&docid=s-WlMAlBVrtILM&sa=X&ei=VxSRUq-jEtGVhQehroDoBg&ved=0CEQQ9QEwAg" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Ikea wooden drawers can look really effective if painted or decorated, maybe add some colourful knobs etc and fill with craft goodies

nextphase · 23/11/2013 20:53

either storage, or a card play house

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha · 23/11/2013 21:01

I desperately wanted a knitting machine when I was about 5. There was a child's one in a catalogue and I remember drooling over it. Never got one though :(

Do they still exist? Might be worth a research.

Bloob · 23/11/2013 21:23

I LOVE the colour in play house idea! Perfect! That is totally the kind of thing I'm looking for!

We have a few storage bits for her craft things, we don't have tonnes of space and what there is needs to be able to be tucked out the way of her little brother.

Easel could be worth some thought. I wondered if its the kind of thing that gets ignored eventually?

Will have a look at the link thanks stargirl :)

Hobbycraft do a set of different coloured drawers to store craft things, you could fill this with different things.
