After 10 years I've finally run out of ideas! Need inspiration!

OP posts:
Purple2012 · 23/11/2013 20:20

Not sure. I am considering a voucher for a diving course but it may be too expensive.

WhoNickedMyName · 23/11/2013 20:21

Chanel Bleu aftershave and an electric toothbrush - that new black one that keeps being advertised (he's asked for it).

Bowlersarm · 23/11/2013 20:23

Some cycling gear. Other than that, I need inspiration. He mentioned he was thinking of getting a Go Pro camera thing back in the summer and hasnt done, so I may look into that but have no idea about cost etc.

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 23/11/2013 20:23

Two books so far and a packet of sweets. I need inspiration for his main present though.

raspberrytart · 23/11/2013 20:24

Gliding trial voucher and some charlie booker/alex horne books

Felix90 · 23/11/2013 20:27

Bowlersarm - does he have a GPS for his bike? If not would be a good present depending on budget obviously. OH bought one recently and raves on about how good it is.

We have set a budget of £50 this year which is less than a third if what we would usually spend due to impending baby arrival. I've bought OH a mint condition Le Coq Sportif cycling jersey from the 1970's as he kept banging on about the reproduction ones they released recently at the ridiculous sum of £70. The original was £17 from a local vintage shop. Also got him a cycling related print from a local artist. Really struggling with the fact I've only bought him two presents and gone a couple of quid over budget. I'm used to giving a few presents Sad

This beer poster and a Garmin golf watch. For once, I've not left it to the last minute.

3bunnies · 23/11/2013 20:30

key finder - expensive one where you press button to make it bleep back - with ones you can stick on the remote too.

Photo book

Toblerone

plus a few other little bits for hamper - everlasting match lighter if it ever turns up, scratch repair for car, some favourite food bits. Plus he will probably want some music type thing which is so specialist that he will order it himself.

Bowlersarm · 23/11/2013 20:35

Felix, thanks for that, but yes he does have GPS for his bike. He's getting really hard to buy for now.

Xfirefly · 23/11/2013 20:36

Worst one! I have no idea - got him a driving day voucher for an Audi r8 for his birthday which went down well

HolgerDanske · 24/11/2013 09:32

The GoPro camera is about £300. It's a brilliant piece of kit, though.

fuzzpig · 24/11/2013 09:42

So far I've got him the lego hobbit board game, a dr who tshirt (wibbly wobbly timey wimey :o), mini sci fi magnetic bookmarks, tiny lego harry potter set

There will be DVDs too but having trouble narrowing it down!

PublicEnemyNumeroUno · 24/11/2013 09:46

chanie44 · 24/11/2013 09:59

A playstation 4, although this will be a combined birthday and Christmas present from everyone.

I'm doing an Xmas stocking for him with:
Beanie hat
Earphones
Face cream
Shaving balm
Aftershave
Chocolate

Plus anything else I see.

starfish4 · 24/11/2013 14:14

Mine has actually come up with a couple of ideas this year - a magazine subscription and a cardigan (of all things) that he saw in H&M, so he's getting them.

I usually end up leaving him to last though and cop out and give him money, alcohol and stocking fillers.

purplemurple1 · 24/11/2013 14:36

I'm struggling as always as we have his bday, fathers day and xmas in the space of a month, so its, aftershave (again), jogging trousers and gloves from DS.

(I got him moisturuser, a champagne saver cork thingy and shoe grips (for walking on ice) for his bday)

IsleOfRight · 24/11/2013 14:37

Tickets to watch snooker live at Alexandra Palace and a lego mini figure display case!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2013 14:48

Dp's birthday is a week before Christmas so always tricky. Money is tight but I bought him an expensive jumper a few weeks back he said would be for his birthday. For Christmas it'll probably be:

New boxers/socks (as everyone gets!)
Chocolates
Some lounge bottoms from fat face
Some coffee bags
A new radio for work
Umm.....

depletedenergy · 24/11/2013 15:02

Nothing. We're on our uppers at the moment, so have agreed to spend the money on the kids.

I feel properly shit about it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/11/2013 18:45

I've bought him nothing at all so far. All he wants is a jumper and a huge pile of books.

Bohemond · 24/11/2013 19:21

Sven autobiog
Slippers
Wellies
Possibly some Bose/beats headphones

FriskyMare · 24/11/2013 19:31

DH has bought himself a bike trainer thingy and some new bike shoes ,
I have got him a Lumie clock, jigsaw, wheres wally boxers, cycle socks and am considering some sheepskin slippers from M&S.

Am so jealous of Felix getting that cycling top.

The Go pro might be an idea for next year,

MrsPear · 24/11/2013 19:54

Jumper and socks from Gap when they had a 25% off code.
Shower gel and face cream from l occitane - his favourites and they are so bloody expensive it is a birthday/Christmas staple
Nuts in shells (I will re wrapped the nut crackers!)

blondiep14 · 24/11/2013 20:02

We're not buying presents for each other, we're going to go away for a night in January instead.

Will probably get him something like PJs from the DC tho.
