The Trafford centre was quie good a few years back. You go through a little winter scene then there was a 3d film followed by the man himself. The only thing is that you go in as a group.

Barton Grange near Preston is usually good.
But they've been booked solid for weeks.

Brookside Garden Centre in Poynton has a good Santa. You ride on their mini railway to the grotto, go in and see santa - the presents are good quality - and then get the train back. There may be better, but the DCs loved it.

It's my party in Burnley on 23 dec is unbeatable IMO. There's a video here. You would not get me near the Trafford centre on Christmas Eve!
