just that.

we looked at some dolls but they have ugly faces.

I'd like one with a nice face.

What sort of doll?

Corolle dolls have quite nice faces, IMO.

duchesse · 23/11/2013 16:35

You could get her (or make) a Waldorf doll but they cost £££.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 23/11/2013 16:39

I saw a Corolle one - £40! Shock

can I justify it? DD is only 19 months

I'll check out the Waldorf one - does not sound cheap, based on name! Grin

thank you both

They are relatively easy to make if that helps... There are online tutorials. The advantage is that you can make them to look like the owner. Also you can use scraps of their old clothing to make the clothes.

I am very good at sewing - maybe I should get a pattern

thing is, we have so much going on, I don't know if I will have the time to finish it.

I wish I had thought of it earlier

This one's pretty. But I don't know what you think is non-ugly! Grin

There is a corrolle doll in John Lewis for £25. Maybe a smaller size one hence the price.

here

I have a whole bag of baby dolls in my boot heading for the charity shop. If you are near west London and don't mine second hand, you are welcome!

SpookedMackerel · 23/11/2013 18:28

Yeah, Corolle are expensive, I was all "we must get one with a pretty face" too, but ended up getting a little baby doll in John Lewis for £6. I liked it because it had a blue outfit (they did have pink ones too). Dd loves it, anyway!

Hawkmoth · 23/11/2013 18:32

I got Berenguer dolls for my two, they are quite cute and smiley.

LifeIsBetterInFlipFlops · 23/11/2013 18:35

Someone will probably be along soon to tell you to buy her an action man and a tool kit!

Sorry - no doll knowledge, good luck.

Maybe here:

My dd had a Baby Stella at that age. Nice and soft with a magnetic dummy which just attaches to the face rather than having to be put in the mouth. Less frustrating for little ones.

Only £19.99 on amazon though

Spooked

I've just seen your post - we ended up buying the £6.00 John Lewis one, in pink!Shock

it has an ok face and as DD has been playing with a similar one at Grandma's house I think she'll be happy with it!

we also bought some pink duplo in a box - so she is sorted.

thanks for all your posts, I will check out the patterns and kits and will probably make a rag doll type soft one for her birthday, which is in April.
