Hi everyone,

Haven't posted in a while but been enjoying following all the threads. Just wondering what you think about the Kindle Fire. It's £99 just now - should I grab it or do you think it will come down on Black Friday?

Thanks in advance

It has only just come on offer at £99 so suspect it won't reduce further yet.

So do you think I should buy it? I'll be gutted if they sell out at that price :S

I think £99 is a really good price. I can't see it coming down further but don't hold me to that.

Who knows really. Last year they dropped £30 quid off the price for black Friday, and in the past year they have sold the kindle several times for £99.

I have a Kindle Fire and it is great for normal reading, playing games, etc but it is worse than useless in bright light so totally unreadable on holiday, by a pool or on beach. I am debating buying a cheap Kindle for holidays.

Thanks everyone, seems that price is probably as good as it gets. Timidviper, thanks for that info. Will pass it on to OH and mention the nook to him as well. Thinking of it as a gift for 10yr old DS.

Yes for reading in the sun, you need something different. It's like a mobile phone, useless in the sun. Avoid anything with a lcd screen. Then fie formats can be limiting in places you can obtain ebooks from, unless you want to use a program such as calibre, that converts for you.

I live in Scotland so the sun is not going to be a huge problem! :)
