Gifts for nieces

I have a few young nieces, and I'm really not sure what to get them this year, so was hoping for some ideas from parents of DDs of similar ages Smile

There are two three year olds and for them I was thinking cuddly toys or books. I saw some great Richard Scarry books on Book People, and I loved them when I was wee. I'm not sure if they wouldn't see books as 'fun,' though, or if cuddly toys are just something they have loads of. Or maybe some fun drawing/making stuff?

There are 2 seven year olds, and this seems a lot harder! They're both quite girly, like make-up, dressing up, One Direction and Monster High. I have no idea what to do here because, when I was their age, I was only into dinosaurs. Blush I'm concerned I'll end up getting them things they already have.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

How much do you like their parents?

If they annoy you, then get the younger two Moon Dough or Moon Sand or an assortment of musical instruments. The children will LOVE them and their parents will never be entirely sure whether or not you did it on purpose...

If you actually like their parents, then books seem like a good idea.

For the seven-year-olds, you could look at the girlier end of the Klutz range -- they are just getting into the right age range for those.

Ha ha! Grin Thanks, AnAdventure, I do really like all the parents in question, so I'd better be good. That Klutz range looks brilliant, I'd never heard of it before. Will start investigating!
