Because I am being asked by relatives what they can buy! We really don't need anything (she's dc3 so we have lots of stuff already) but they refuse to buy vouchers or give money (which we would actually like to buy season tickets for days out).

So what are you getting your baby?

My friend last year bought my baby a 1-2 year old bath robe with his name embroidered on it :)

My DS was 6 months old his first christmas Smile he got stacking cups, shape sorter and board books from us/santa but mainly because his older sister was adamant that santa should bring him something and it should be "fun stuff, not boring stuff". Everyone else got him clothes. Literally didnt have to get him anything in the next size up at all!

As he has a summer birthday, things that you might want around the 9-12 month stage just before... toys that encourage crawling, clothes in that size, maybe a baby walker, touchy-feely books, etc

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 20/11/2013 15:16

Do you have season-appropriate clothes in the right sizes?
I know you'll have most of the clothes she'd need, but an extra-special top is always nice. Something like Olive & Moss or Mini Boden.

A nice money box? This is what I've bought one of my nieces, who will be 3 months old at Christmas.

The Lamaze toys are nice and handy because they can be clipped on to car seats and pushchair straps.

Knife,fork,spoon set
Plate & bowl/egg cup set
Sleeping bag
Rag doll with her name on for when shes a bit older
A nice wooden toy box (or dressing up box

Wrap it in cellophane, or something else that is satisfying, like a baby-sized box. 6 month olds don't really understand presents, but they do understand that crinkling is awesome, and sitting in a box feels cozy Smile

Well I'm getting my 9 month old, at Christmas 10 month old, old a few things. He wont of course get it at all but its okay IMO for it to be purley for our own enjoyment as parents. He is admittedly getting more than I would get him though because I don't want my 3 year old to think he's the only one who gets gifts for Christmas or that Santa likes him moreGrin.

From Santa and Mum and Dad:

-a drum
-a tugboat for the bath by Green toys
-a Melissa and Doug puzzle
-a Mozart Musical Cube

Stocking:

-a cage bell
-a noise maker clacking thing...?
-2 little board books
-3 Schleich marine animals for the tub
-and a music CD (that is really for both kids)

More than enough I know but I can't help but love buying toys at Christmas!
