Are zhu zhu pets pointless?

They look pointless.
Apparently ds has played with the battling ones at a friend's house. I'm done shopping for him but mil was asking what he'd like so I guess she could get some.

Are they shit?!

they are pretty pointless! my dd played with hers for a few days now lives at the botttom of the toybox!!

tesco had a big set reduced to £7.50 Smile

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 17/11/2013 20:45

They are pointless, but very entertaining :-D

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 20:47

Ds says it's the ones that battle - I've looked they are called kung zhu and have armour.
They do look quite cute. Cute but pointless!

I suppose what I was asking is do your dc play with them for more than a day - I see Disney's didn't!

we got them last year - they got played with for a couple of weeks off and on but they get everything caught up in the wheels so ours ended up in the bin (me and dd have long hair and we have a dog). They are completely pointless. But..... my daughter loved getting them, they are inexpensive (think we paid £3 for them) and were amusing while they played with them. There are definitely worse things to waste your money on

AngiBolen · 17/11/2013 20:57

yes, pointless.

I thought it would be silly just to get one and a bit of track, so bought loads. Hmm

LittleMissGreen · 17/11/2013 21:01

My boys still play with the ones they got for Christmas last year. However, they do have a big track and lots of armour as I picked up loads of sets for 75p each on sale! So for about the £12 it cost between the 3 of them for animals and track - well worth the money!

melmo26 · 17/11/2013 21:02

My sil gave our dds a bunch of them a few weeks ago. Dd1 & 2 (5 & 4) played with them non stop for about a week but dd3 (2) still won't put them down. Decided to get her some for Xmas

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 21:04

Maybe I will be able to find some cheap on eBay. I think mil wont mind how much they are as she's usually pretty generous but I don't want her to waste money on them if they are going to be mainly ignored.

They stop working after about 5 minutes. They still squeak and make sounds but they don't move about.

We have about 4 with the track and the house bit.

It's all in a box in a cupboard never touched! I asked DD1 if I could donate it to charity or get rid to make way for new Christmas toys but she won't let me.

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 17/11/2013 21:07

Supermarkets have them all the time, along with clothes/play parks/babies/other random shit you'd expect from a pointless toy ;)

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 17/11/2013 21:09

Yes, but the 5 min thing is useful if your child has been shorter attention span themselves, it's a race to see who gets bored first

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 21:10

Oh maybe not eBay then in case they don't work.
Although the fact that a lot of them on eBay are listed as being in barely played with new condition makes me think that perhaps lots of children don't play with them much!

OMG the fecking kitten.......

I can hear DP in the other room, giving her a first warning....Grin

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 21:11

Ds says he wants one that goes in a tank Hmm

Sorry, wrong thread!

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 17/11/2013 21:43

we've got DD has one that plays Greensleeves then does the Scooby Doo running noise before it hurtles nose-first into the wall, it's awesome!

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 21:45

So they have noises too? How do I know which one makes which noise?!

OP posts:
TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 17/11/2013 21:48

I have no idea, but know they make different ones when on the tracks/in the cars etc

Mittensonkittens · 17/11/2013 21:55

They do sound entertaining.
Maybe we will just get two so they can battle and see how we get on.
