Disney superhero dress up outfits

Are they true to size or do they come up small?
Buying for average size 6 yr old - now in quandry do I buy 5-6 or 7-8 ?

I would buy bigger. Would they wear it over their normal clothes or instead of normal clothes? They would add a couple of inches, but it depends which costume you are looking at. You could always turn the legs up if it was massive.

I bought a batman one for my average sized nephew recently and I have to say it was massive on him! Depends on the brand though I think.
