DC have written their letters to Santa this afternoon. Full of plastic tat as usual Grin But it wouldn't be Christmas without the usual sackful of stuff from Santa, that Mum would never buy, would it?

I know I am starting late by the standards of this board, but I need help in sourcing at least some of these items at the most bargainiferous prices possible. I have already bought their main (joint) present from me, but the budget has been severely dented this month due to car troubles.

I don't intend to buy all of the items on their lists either and probably the things I can find cheapest will be the ones who make it into Santa's sleigh! Although if there are lots of bargains out there I can keep the extra gifts back as birthdays are only a couple of months after Christmas anyway.

So here are this years must have items according to my DS

  1. Hex Bug Nano V2 track
  2. Lego City (this should be easy as he only has a fire engine and a van with a satellite dish so far, and there appears to be millions of kits available)
  3. Airhog- think that is a floating ball, as seen advertised on TV
4.Angry Birds Space board game
  1. Domino Express
  2. Boom Boom Balloon- not sure this is a good idea as DD is scared of balloons Hmm

and DD's wish list

  1. Hello Kitty Cosmetic Case
  2. baby Annabell carseat and clothes (also those overpriced packs of tiny nappies i refuse to buy)
  3. A shnook- wtf?
  4. Doodle Dotty drawing thing
  5. Moshi Monster 3 in 1 sticker studio
  6. Fijit Yippit- we saw these in the shop and they were horribly annoying
  7. Lego Friends diary, even though she has no interest in lego what so ever!

So has anyone seen any good deals on the above they can point me in the direction of? Also looking for small stocking filler bits (already have pant, socks, choc coins, toothbrush etc.) but nothing too big (or expensive) as they only have tiny sock sized stockings in their beds then get the bigger things in the sacks downstairs. Trying to get it all bought and wrapped by the end of the month as my diary for December is already filling up. Help!

Have a look on the entertainer toy shop - they have an offer on if you spend more than £100 and they have some of those toys in the sale

scrappydappydoo · 17/11/2013 19:40

sorry - should have included a link www.thetoyshop.com

Thanks I'm having a look at that site now- the £15 off £100 ends tonight at midnight though!

Also i forgot to add they have both asked for Minions. i have a feeling it is the annoying talking kind they want but i know at least one must be called Dave. Anyone seen a good price anywhere?

argos have this hexbug v2 track on offer, but the smaller £10 set certainly was cheaper at the Entertainer than it is at Argos.

raisah · 17/11/2013 21:02

Do you have a B&M near you? They usually stock big brand toys at very good prices.

Furball · 17/11/2013 21:03

lego vehicles are £1.50 with £30 of shell fuel

makemineapinot · 17/11/2013 22:42

Don't buy doll's nappies - if you get supermarket cheapy early baby nappies they tend to fit most dolls!

chocolatespiders · 17/11/2013 22:49

Newborn nappies from supermarket fit dolls and only £3.00 a pack, also nappy bags big hit with my dd.
I also refuse to pay the price of Baby annabelle clothes I go round the car boots or charity shops as newborn or early baby fit and dd loves her bag full of different babygros, vests and clothes.

TheXmasLogIn · 17/11/2013 23:38

I totally agree about the nappies, I always say no to them as they cost almost the same price for 5 as I used to pay for a WHOLE BOX of real nappies when the DC were small.

Finally managed to checkout on the Entertainer site, after it emptied my basket completely twice Then it wouldn't let me have free home delivery when I used the £15 off code. I can't do store pickup so tried a different browser and got it working eventually. also found the whole site really slow so I'm guessing a lot of people were on tonight before that discount ends.

I got a Domino express vertigo on Amazon for £8.

chubbychipmonk · 17/11/2013 23:40

And B&M had loads of Hello Kitty stuff last time I was in there, pretty sure they had Vanity case.

chocolatespiders · 18/11/2013 15:11

Looked today Tesco new baby nappies £2.57 for 20.. at least if they are cheaper you don't have to look in horror as they are taken on and off again then don't stick!! Thinks the tesco ones are more velco sticky bits so easier to reuse Smile

Crutchlow35 · 18/11/2013 18:34

See if you can get any of it on boots 3:2?

farrowandballs · 18/11/2013 23:39

Home bargains!!!

Somethingpink · 19/11/2013 00:51

Shnooks are a fluffy haired teddy with little hair accessories and they are 2 for £10 in asda. Dd got two for her birthday and she loves them Smile
