It's a fan assisted oven, afaik that reduces cooking time?

The recipe I use says 4.5hrs at 150°C but I have always cooked it in a bog standard oven & not a fan assisted so I have no idea how long it wants to be in there for Confused Confused

HELP!!

For my fan oven I always reduce the temperature by 20 degrees, but cook for about the same time. So 130 C and check after 4 hours.

As above ^^

Whose recipe have you used?

And get you with a new oven Grin

It's from dp's mums old Bero book Bella....she gave me the recipe when we first got together (and a rolling pin Hmm )

The cooker isn't new new, but new to me....have just whiled away a couple of hours making sure it's spotless while the girls are playing Grin (I am very excited about using it later on Grin )

Bero recipes are fab. My book is falling apart now, must get a new one. Perhaps the rolling pin was to bash DP with if he didn't behave? Grin.

Well new or nearly new, I am sure it will be great.

Remember to double layer your tin base and sides with grease proof paper.

Grin Maybe it was.....I think I ought to try that theory Wink

The tin is ready and waiting....I had a disaster with one in my old oven yesterday Sad

Either 20 degrees lower for the same time, or 10% off the cooking time.
Think I'd go for the right temp, and reduce the time by 10% - so 4 hrs.

I do mine at 140 for the first 30 min then turn it down to 120-130. How big is it?

lucysmam · 17/11/2013 14:47

It's an 8" round

I would do
30 min at 140
3hrs at 120-130
and keep an eye on it
