Can we start a list please? So far I've had her favourite song lyrics put on a wall decal and some soap......any other ideas?

I have twin 15yo DSDs :) still struggling a bit though. TBF we don't usually do a 'big' item at Xmas - their mum usually gets that if there is one (other way round for birthdays)

So far my ideas are:

DSD1 (the ever so slightly older one :o)
Nice pjs - she was lamenting the fact she doesn't get given them anymore so I took that as a hint!)
Me to you bear slipper boots
Asa Butterfield book
Merlin DVDs
Enders Game DVD (this isn't released til Feb, so I'm going to preorder it and write an IOU!)

DSD2
DVD box sets - not chosen yet but includes Futurama, Big Bang Theory etc
Sherlock hoodie
Naruto stuff - keyring, wallet etc
Manga drawing guide
Manga pens and huge paper

Toying with the idea of vouchers - stuff like bowling, indie sweet shop etc

QueenofallIsee · 16/11/2013 19:00

mine is having:

wreck this journal
odeon voucher
hollister hoodie
rad beanie hat
dr martens in acid orange
jack wills duvet set
acoustic guitar and music
glee box set
perfume
eyelashes
books/dvds

starbucks pre-paid gift card

LumpySpacePrincessOhMyGlob · 16/11/2013 19:21

Is she into make up? I see glossy box are doing a box for teens.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/11/2013 20:00

Second the Starbucks card - we always give our dds one, with a Starbucks chocolate coin and candy cane.

Things they use anyway - hairspray, face wash, shower gel, lip balm etc

Fluffy socks

Perfume? DD1 likes Kate Moss.

AphraBane · 16/11/2013 20:50

I was lamenting the other day that DD's presents were all so non-tangible and hence less impact/opening fun on Xmas day itself. But, hey, that's what she wants:

Ticket to One republic concert (also going with DD2 and me as the supposedly responsible adult)

Subscription to magazine for a year (she's just come back from exchange to France and wanted French teeny mag, so it counts as educational).

Annual junior membership of Amnesty.

Original iPod replacement earphones

Silly Primark Tog-rating socks

A silly onesie will undoubtedly follow...

NearTheWindmill · 16/11/2013 23:08

Have no idea at all what she really wants but so far I have bought:

Next pyjamas with a lovely fleecy top
Hat, scarf and glove set
Matching bra and knickers

Must buy more but am not getting much of a steer. I think what she would really like is for me to take her to Venice for a mum and daughter break but it doesn't seem a "proper" Christmas present.

QOD · 16/11/2013 23:10

Saint Kidd tshirts - company is part owned by Dougie mcFly and he wears the range £98 for 3 bloody tshirts oh but they come with a "free" bag

Jack Wills t shirts x 2 in the sale

White converse (purchased with a 20% discount code for office)

Ticket to McBusted

but she doesn't know I have sold out tickets for face value to a friend and bought bloody amazing VIP tickets that are in the aptly named OMFG standing zone

Day trip to Disney land Paris on the coach (in April)

Shit ... There's lots more ...

JUST TO ADD HER BIRTHDAY IS 1 week before so some of this will be birthday

try not to think about money

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 16/11/2013 23:17

French teeny mag sounds fab - any idea what it's called, Aphra?
Not bought anything for Christmas yet, but DD was 16 this week.
She got:

onesie from Next,
Hunger Games DVD,
Zara shopper-style bag (which her mates loved),
Nail varnish pens from Accessorize,
Oliver Bonas earrings (chosen herself),
Clothes from Primarni, Topshop, Zara,
Kurt Geiger studded suede ankle boots,
Couple of books,
New x-box game (piratical, think it was COD?)
Bodyshop voucher,
Hotel Chocolat salted caramels.

NoComet · 16/11/2013 23:21

DD1wants an iPhone, it will have to wait until her contract runs out in August, so until then I'm stumped appart from some perfume she wants and a coat she's already wearing.

I need a Xmas day surprise to open as DD2 has a nexus tablet.

DD1originally wanted a iPod touch 5 to replace her full and dying iPod 3, but a large memory one is silly money and as she hates her galaxy ace and loves my iPhone, it makes sense to say fuck it and get her a iPhone. Will have to count as Xmas and birthday and ....

celestialsquirrels · 16/11/2013 23:31

Have got 15 yo dd:
Ghds
Miss Dior perfume
Clarins cleanser toner moisturiser ( they do a system for teens)
Xmas jumper
Fluffy wooly slipper socks
Smart shower gel
Bobby Brown Makeup book
Nail polish
Couple of novels
Some stationery

celestialsquirrels · 16/11/2013 23:32

Starbucks card a great idea!

fuzzpig · 17/11/2013 07:51

Junior membership to amnesty is a great idea! And only a fiver. DSD (proud stepmum alert) runs an amnesty club at her school with a teacher, she does a lot for it. I don't know if that means she already has a personal membership though - I'll try to check that out sneakily!

I'm also now wondering about doing something RNLI-related for my DD (6) as they did a talk at school and she is always talking about them (and playing sea rescue in the bath :o)

fuzzpig · 17/11/2013 07:54

Ooh sorry not relevant to the thread but RNLI kids membership is £7.50 so definitely doing that for DD - thanks for the inspiration alphra :)

fuzzpig · 17/11/2013 07:57

Oh another thing I might get DSD2 is a naruto video game

fuzzpig · 17/11/2013 09:31

Anyone got any ideas for food/drink giftcards other than Starbucks/costa? My DSDs don't do hot drinks so would be unlikely to use them. I'm wondering about doing a big envelope full of vouchers for various things to do. Gave them cinema cards this year which went down really well (so well that they then decided to get unlimited cards once they'd run out!)

lilolilmanchester · 17/11/2013 09:38

I got Pizza Hut voucher from Sainsburys, they also had Nandos. I am thinking of doing a bundle of cards for my student ds and his gf. Couple for food places, cinema and bowling.

MARGUERITE18 · 17/11/2013 09:59

DD is 15 and writes a list

last year I bought her 3 dvd movies, the hobbit visual guide, a pandora charm, doctor who. 1 direction. justin bieber and the hobbit annuals, anime drawing pens, sims 3, a new expensive phone, headphones, a t-shirt (galaxy print) hotel chocolat stuff, urban decay makeup and tons of the boots 3 for 2 sets.

this year she has asked for sabrina the teenage witch and whitechapel dvds, disney store stuff, hollister hoodie, nook voucher, and stuff for her puppy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/11/2013 14:09

Yes, teenagers seem to like Nandos (can't think why tbh)! Starbucks etc do sell cold drinks too, though. :) Do Wagamamas do vouchers, or Yo Sushi?'

fuzzpig · 17/11/2013 14:14

What's wrong with nandos? :o mind you my DSDs don't like it actually. In fact DSD2 recently told me she doesn't like going out to eat with her mates as they are all noisy and embarrassing!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/11/2013 14:26

I'm a veggie, Fuzz - so it's not great for me. And I always find it rather dirty too. Dp and the dds used to like it, but even they have gone off it now.

MARGUERITE18 · 17/11/2013 17:00

Nandos do 3 yummy veggie burgers Remus! :)

For Food vouchers/giftcards DD suggests

. Shakeaway (chocolate bar milkshake place with football table) which is really cool apparently.
. Red Hot world buffet
. frankie and bennys

she also says the bowling place near us sells gift cards and the local theatre do free under 18 discount cards for shows :)

DameDeepRedBetty · 17/11/2013 17:05

Keep them coming everyone - DTDs will be fifteen four weeks after Christmas so need loads of ideas here!

Tryingteacher · 21/11/2013 11:05

These are great, so many ideas. Anymore?
