...has anyone been? Is it really horribly busy? Will have a free afternoon in London next Saturday with 6yo DS1 and vaguely considering going...

im planning to go as a group of adults/ children

we will not do any of the main things, but for this you can buy your tickets online

I'm guessing it will be busy and cold and will plan accordingly

Should be okay next week .
We went IIRC the weekend before Christmas (I've been 3 times, alternate years)

It was soo busy, getting through the gates was a nightmare.
It was muddy but they put plastic walkways down which is god,

Our DC went on a couple of rides this time, they weren't really bothered.

One year we prebooked the big wheel (you need to prebook some rides) and there was a blizzard.
It was really pretty (even though we couldn't see anything) but some of the rides closed .

Really really busy when I went last year in early December. Wouldn't do it with ds now as we'd lose him within seconds! But if your ds is a bit more biddable he'd have a blast.

We have been for about the last four years with dd's friends - a whole gang of girls and mums. This year I think they'll go on their own. Really fab. Take your own flasks of mulled wine.
