Please tell me it'll be ok Confused

I lent dp's mum my slightly bigger tin...didn't expect it to spill over the edge of this one, it's not that much smaller Hmm

Cut off the overflow to get the cake back into shape, cover with marzipan and ice as usual. It won't harm it, just have a smaller cake! In domestic science at school we were taught to cut off any central 'bumps' if it had risen too high to get a level top to decorate.

And eating the offcuts is surely one of the chef's bonuses.

I shall have to re-bake it....my oven has finally died....three and a flamin' half hours into baking the cake ffs Hmm

Bits were burnt, other bits still very soggy, the odd bit doesn't look too bad.

Thankfully one of dp's mums new neighbours has her own oven so was getting rid of the one in the house so we're having it. Just got to wait im patiently for my dad to agree to pick it up in the morning so I can re-bake the cake!
