So....she earns dp's weekly wage in a day, her bf is super rich and anything she wants she will buy for herself if she wants it iyswim? Any gift from us is a token at best as our budget is around £10 for each adult (ours are the only dc to buy for in the family).

Last year, she was going skiing for the new year, so we bought a snood thingy which she took with her. This year, I am clueless as to plans & my dads best suggestion is an itunes voucher which doesn't seem very gifty to me, I'd like to get her something to unwrap but my brain is going

When I don't know what to buy someone, I sometimes get one of those chocolate plaques from Thornton's with a message on it.

I would feel inclined to give her something that represents time or effort, not money. Eg make some biscuits/ shortbread and put in a nice jar or something along those lines.

I'm not overly sure what she will/will not eat Katisha with being veggie (I think, poss vegan)...will have to give my dad a ring and see.

Can you make her something? A pair of handwarmers, a scarf with lovely wool, a jar of jam or chutney?

Does she really want or expect a gift? Does she enjoy buying you thoughtful presents do you think?

I wish we could knock buying for our adult siblings on the head, but I'm the only one who feels that way unfortunately, so we continue to exchange so-so gift sets and naff novelties.

I would definitely make her something rather than buy...what about a hand-made bauble made by your dc.

Lots of personal things from notonthehighstreet can be made yourself. I made my friend a scrabble picture which was her family names in scrabble letters set out like a scrabble game. I ripped the idea off from notonthehighstreet and made it for a fraction of the cost. I also bought from eBay an old card game called lexicon and used the cards to make a piece of artwork. For my 40th the same friend made me a lovely gift which was my name as a dictionary entry and then lots of lovely things about me printed below and framed. Also ripped off from notonthehighstreet . Booja Booja chocolates are vegan. I can also happily say that they are also delicious to a non vegan :)

If she really is 'super rich' perhaps she would see the value in a charity gift that helps people who live in poverty - a day at a Christmas shelter perhaps [winnk]

Etsy do some lovely things I bought my friend who has everything she could ever want in the world a little rose gold thin stacking ring from there and she never takes it off and says how much she loves it and would never have looked on there so worth a try

Ragwort, it's hard enough getting her to come to the part of town where we live because it's rougher than she's used to, she won't come unless my dad comes with her
