Dcs are young but I still haven't got round to making the christmas stockings I talk about making every year. This year I am going to do it. I also plan to paint little wooden christmas decorations for them (they are 1 & 3- so will probably be seriously unbothered by it all I expect, but I still want to do it!!)

Anyone got any good christmas 'makey stuff' ideas?

There are loads of brilliant ideas on Pinterest for inspiration.. I'm making loads of felt decorations, stockings and advent calenders

I bought 97p stockings from Wilko last year, a metre each of red and silver sequins from the market and some craft glue. I stuck sequins on the white bit of the stockings for their names in red & made some silver sequin snowflakes to go on them too. they were easy to do.

This year I'm making some bead candy canes for the tree and some snowflakes with the kids for the windows (they're a bit older though). I think the link's still on my phone if you'd like me to link?

We make paper chains too and a gingerbread house. this year we're going to try a rice crispy house kit from asda though.

Your three yo would probably enjoy doing salt dough decs and painting them.

gingerbread house! I'd forgotten about that lucy I did it the year before last then forgot to do it last year and was annoyed with myself. I'll be definately getting one this year. That's great fun!

Good idead re the stockings- I'm in town later so will have a look in Wilkos for some bits!

Going to check out pinterest tonight when dcs head to bed I think.

oooh, I've just thought of another that I found on pinterest & am going to do....

You need an a3 canvas, brown paint, green paint and gold paint. Print dp's hands at bottom (or dh, if you have one obviously Smile )in green paint, yours above in green paint, older dc's hands and then smallests on top....paint a star on top of where smallests palm ends iyswim and a pot shape where dp's finger tips end....voila...christmas tree canvas! (hope my description makes senseConfused )

I'm going to do this with my girls and then let them loose with the glitter glue and pompoms God help me Grin

Dd and i made christmas trees out of catalogues yesterday and a garland of book page trees. Very simple but look pretty!

A bit like these but made out of all the christmas catalogues we've had through the door and instead of doing the two sets of 30 pages we just did the whole catalogue and stuck front and back together.

The garland is made up of trees like [[ this
