I have no idea what to get him. We do not do ipads and the like as I don't believe a child needs something like that. We might get him a cheap mobile phone. What toys does your 10/11/12 year old want? (He is 11)

Ok my 12yr old is a dd but very ungirly. Toys are not looked at. Lego is still good but just to build then put on display. No playing with them. Also a minecraft obsessed home! PlayStation/wii games. Mobile phone. She was fine with a cheap Nokia at 11 but as soon as she started secondary school it had to be an iPhone so we bought a secondhand 5c. Unfortunately once they hit secondary brands are very important to fitting in. Laptop, tablet, technology is very important.
I've been informed that hype is the cool clothing brand at the moment.

My 11yo DS wants a fitbit but i need to work out if any will fit his super skinny wrists. He does a lot of athletics training and wants to log it all on his iPhone. Other than that he's only asked for an xBox game.

It's also his birthday in December so i'm really stuck for ideas for that too.

El Gato for making gaming videos and a new IPhone here. He is gaming and technology mad (he is eleven) and if I buy 'toys' they will end up unused under the bed.

Lego, Minecraft magazine subscription, tripod for his phone to make his stop animation videos, Carcassone board game, cluedo, bloody Pokemon cards, bloody Magic The Gathering cards, gift card for Xbox live, Chemistry set and the new DanTDM book (released soon).

Also a box of Japanese candy because of all the YouTube videos about it. Hmm

Mine will be 10 just after Christmas - he's asked for more Lego and some PlayStation games. He will get those, and we always get books, a board game, a teddy/blanket etc.

Ds is 9 and absolutely no interest in toys.
His favourite things that he already has are
Playstation (limited screen time)
Headset to talk to his friends online
David Walliams book set
Counting money box

Hes mentioned he'd like
New ps4 game
Headphones
Adidas clothes/trainers
Football goals
Water speakers
Bean boozled or how ever you spell it. A box of sweets that has nasty flavours disguised as good. Think vomit, dog food etc Confused

Technology, especially at high school age, is a major factor in fitting in whether we like it or not

My about to turn 11 yr old DD - who thinks she's a boy- will be getting an iPad because she has recently cracked the screen on the iPod she had been using for the past few years. Mostly for audiobooks going to bed and some Netflix and games.

She's getting a new bicycle for her birthday on Boxing Day as she's grown again.

I'll probably add some Lego as she really loves that. I will suggest boating bits to relatives, or Lego. She also got a couple of games in the past few years which she loves - QBitz, Logic being 2 I remember, which are not "run of the mill" games. And a science set.

Books- always a couple of books. At least one novel I think she'd enjoy and usually another non-fiction book as well.
