Last year, I listened to Smooth Radio Christmas, but this year they aren't doing it.
Has anyone come across any Christmas radio stations?

Have found this Smooth Christmas Radio (only online though) and on their Facebook page there was something about the demise of smooth Christmas

Smooth Christmas Radio wrote a new note: INFO ON D.A.B STATION SMOOTH RADIO XMAS - PLEASE READ!

UPDATE ON SMOOTH XMAS - DAB BROADCAST FROM SMOOTH RADIO/GLOBAL RADIO

We've never broadcast on DAB and have no intentions of doing so I'm afraid.

You've been sent here as you've asked a question about DAB. Please read on for more information about Smooth Christmas Radio, Smooth Xmas, GMG, Global and the DAB platform, due to the volume of questions on this subject we can't answer every question as this online only station is run by just 2 people.

Since 2005 we've used the name "Smooth Christmas Radio" Smooth Radio, originally part of GMG, then Part of Real Radio, then sold in 2013 to Global Radio (They own Capital Radio, Capital Xtra plus a whole host of other stations)

Since Global Radio have taken over Smooth Radio they have decided that a Christmas station isn't something they wish to be a part of as it doesn't fit in with their brand, another reason is that there simply isn't enough space left on the DAB radio waves. Only 6 days after the confirmed merger to Global Radio, they took off Smooth Radio 70's which had over 750,000 listeners, again, this station doesn't fit in with their brand and was axed, it has been replaced with Capital Xtra, a station aimed at much younger listeners.

You can contact Smooth Radio on their facebook page at www.facebook.com/smooth.radio should you wish to voice your concerns over the lack of Xmas station this year.

As you can imagine, their choice of name for their Christmas station has caused a lot of confusion with listeners, however, I can assure you, Smooth Christmas Radio was the first to use the name and we've owned the domain since 2006, only this year, before the merger with Global we were in talks with Smooth Radio to purchase our domains and twitter handle and we were going to re-name to try and remove some of the confusion, however now that they've decided they don't wish to continue the Smooth Xmas brand, we will be continuing as we are.

I didn't realise Smooth 70s had gone as well.
