What gift are you most looking forward to GIVING this Xmas?

I'm really excited about what we've chosen so far but probably the biggest 'wow' will be the playmobil swimming pool for my 6yo DD as she is in love with it having played with it at a friend's house. She has no idea we know though so it will be a surprise.

Although I am also ridiculously excited about giving DH a tree decoration in his stocking - it's a fabric one in the shape of Sherlock Holmes! Found it in London the other day and actually hopped up and down a little . It won't be DH's favourite present as his main gifts are pretty great (if I say so myself :o) but I'm really looking forward to seeing his face when he opens it :o

My DF. He loves maps, and is very proud of his granddaughter. I have got him a personalised OS map of his seaside town called "Grandad and DD's map" with a photo of him and DD on the beach on the cover. It is well good

Aw that's lovely! I think it's great when the 'wow' present is something the recipient doesn't even know exists IYSWIM?

Same reason I'm hoping to get DSD a Sherlock hoodie - there's no way she realised you can get them...

2 things, I've got my OH tickets to go and see ranulph fiennes with his best friend. He thinks he cant go as I have my annual work get together that day, its a lie I haven't so he will be so excited. Also my LO loves her dolls and my mum has got her baby annabell and I have got the bits to go with it. I know she will squeal with delight. I am so excited for Christmas I could just pop!

I've got my dh a tin of Wallace and grommit biscuits, he loves tins and this one looks very cool. I'm also looking forward to giving my dd all her presents as its her first Christmas!

I found a kind of papercut - collage picture thing / layers of paper on top of each other at a craft fair in May. Looks exactly like dm's old dog. Looking forward to giving her that.

A storm trooper onesie for my Star Wars obsessed dad or batman hi tops for DP with arkham origins hidden in the box.

I'm looking foward to the kids faces at their furbys (we don't generally do plastic or noisy toys so they think there is no chance!).

Also cat keyboard for my son and set of 20 moshi monsters for my daughter.

I have an overwhelming urge to spoil them this year with a proper pile of presents. We usually keep it to about 6 presents each to open and some books but we've had a rough year as my mum is unwell and I want this christmas to be special (I know I know presents aren't what make it special! Am also upping the Christmas traditions too and hoping to finding somewhere amazing to go for a day trip in Dec too).

for christmas iv got a couple

dad the onsie.. not sure how he will take it but im sure itll get some laughs.

ds's the minecraft torchs for christmas, they have one each.

for ds1 birthday the battroborg arena.. he really wants but "knows its to expensive" and dunbells.

for ds2 birthday a wall-e sound track cd.

For my oldest son it is his Playmobil penguin set, he was so excited to see the penguins at the zoo when we went on holiday. He kept saying 'cuddle' and 'splash' to them (he has a speech delay so limited words).

We will be going to Marwell before Christmas so he will see the penguins again and hopefully be delighted with his penguin set. Especially as you can fill it with water and make the toy penguins splash.

With my youngest son it has to be his wave drum, he is obsessed with the one at Stay and Play. He will just be so delighted with it.

I can't mention my husband's gift on here as it is a big surprise that he doesn't know he is having and I can't risk him noticing what I have written.

I am sure your daughter will be delighted, the Playmobil swimming pool is lovely.

I love Christmas surprises.

meant to add ds2 he has bigger pressent which i know he'll enjoy but hes fallen in love with wall-e, he listen to cars sound track at night and is quite picky but he will LOVE the wall-e cd and has no clue it even exsist which is why that the main one im excited about..

I love the look of the playmobil penguin set too. Tempted to give that to myself DS...

DD has wanted a baby in a bath and the bath sings. She saw it about a year and a half ago but it was an Australian product and cost £200 shipping.

But Argos came to the rescue and have one for a fraction of the price. She will be so happy as she actually gave up asking for it earlier this year.

DH has a rather fab present but that would out me to certain other MN'ers who know me in RL and know the present.

Also forgot the Tobuscus hoodie for mine craft obsessed DD1. I had no idea you could get them - and neither does she!

DD loves One Direction. We recently inherited some mkney so we are buying her/her best friend/DH a ticket to their concert. I can't wait.

I'm 'giving' the baby (due December) to DH, I guess? We're all excited about that gift.

DD3 will be getting this kind of play thing. We have got a ton or cardboard boxes which we've superglued on loads of textured things (corrugated stuff, foam, furry things) on the outside and inside, and stuffed with paper and cards and arty crafty stuff, pencils, cheap paints, masks and so on. It has only cost us £8 but I know she'll love it and I really can't wait to see her face.

I've got tickets for a concert for my bf - he doesn't know this person is playing so hopefully will be excited. Plus it's happening where his DS is at university so we'll be able to see him while we're up there. Not until February but will wrap tickets up nicely :)

Found some black feather pens(after a big search) and black notebooks for my HP mad dd 8.

Also a crystal mining kit and books on rocks/minerals.

She isn't expecting either but is mad about both.

I find my boys gifts less easy to get excited over.

Oh oh oh retropear where did you get the feather pens please? Would love one for DD (she keeps picking up pigeon feathers and pretending to write with them)

A kindle fire for DD. She's desperate for a tablet and we've been looking at cheap ones together. She has no idea the looking at cheap ones is a diversion and she will be getting a fire

They're nice quality too and I think they do other colours.

I got a pack of 2 black and beige notebooks from Waterstones. Got to make Hogwarts School labels.

Notebooks were £4.50 for 2.

I've found a load of old cine film, in my dad's attic, so we're paying to get it transferred onto DVD for various members of my family. It contains long since deceased relatives and those who are currently very ill. It will give precious memories to those who receive it.

Anything my son opens will be amazing for him as he's only 4, so I think I am most looking forward to seeing my DD12 opening her main. She never asks for anything extravagent and was over the moon with her wonderbook last year. This year I'm buying her a TV for her room. I was very firm against her having one when she was younger so I know she won't expect it at all :)

Luggage16 re your day out - if you have anywhere near you that does Santa steam train excursions they are fun for children.

I've got dd 12 a ticket to see The Wanted, her favourite band.

She did ask for a ticket but I told her they were sold out but our names are on a list for any additional dates, but they wouldn't be on sale till the end of February, she will be over the moon.

Retro - we did a Honeyduke's gift box for HP obsessed nephew one year. We bought lots of different sweets and packaged them up with homemade signs saying things like, 'Gillyweed' and 'Bertie Botts beans' etc. That went down really well and was cheap to do.

I haven't actually bought much yet, so not really excited about anything - but I wanted this thread to keep appearing for me in threads I'm on! We have bought dd1 a couple of pairs of 'nice' knickers, instead of the usual M&S five packs - I think she'll be pleased with those. :)
