Just seen the coke Christmas advert and got all excited! Lol

It isn't coming anywhere near us this year but it might be for you?

I also checked when I saw the advert, we're in London so there are a few dates. I haven't seen it before - but I do like diet coke - so might go along if they have freebies!

ApocalypseMeow · 09/11/2013 21:15

Yay it's coming to our town, dd's are very excited now Grin

Sheeparefluffy · 09/11/2013 21:19

Last year they gave away a free small can of coke and for health and safety reasons had to be opened before giving it to you! Confused

It was lovely seeing the truck though and the photos were fab.

A truck with a Coca Cola logo is coming

Commerce and venality combined innit

gloomy chip-pisser

MillyRules · 09/11/2013 22:14

I saw it.....Christmas is coming lah lah lah......Coca Cola (something like that). Im actually excited by it and loving the M & S advert too.

SmallMechanicalBrain · 09/11/2013 22:33

It's coming to my nearest town :o

MillyRules · 09/11/2013 22:38

Awwww....that's cool Small. Im to off the beaten track for it to come near me. Nearest place is 2 hours away.

Bunbaker · 09/11/2013 22:45

What is so special about have a Coca Cola truck coming to town?

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 09/11/2013 22:49

Bun, I have no idea Confused
I mean, I love Christmas, but is it just a truck that drives past?

MillyRules · 09/11/2013 22:50

Well probably the kids love to go and see it but other than that its just linked to the Coca Cola Christmas Advert that comes every year towards Christmas. You know its nearly Christmas when that comes on.

picnicbasketcase · 09/11/2013 22:51

It's a bloody great lorry off the telly that gives out free tiny mins tyres tins of pop!

Get involved with the thrill!

picnicbasketcase · 09/11/2013 22:52

Mins tyres? I think that was meant to be miniature Confused

Bunbaker · 09/11/2013 22:55

Sorry, nearly all TV advertising passes me by. I rarely watch any live TV on commercial channels and we don't have Sky, so the Coca Cola advert means nothing to me.

Quite frankly I would rather be anywhere else then Meadowhall in December anyway. Bah humbug!

Pogosticks · 09/11/2013 22:57

I got all excited about this then remembered it will be cold, dark and probably boring queuing up for a tiny can of pop that I don't want. I love the Christmassy-ness of the ad though. Its the reality part of it thats crap!

LaurieFairyCake · 09/11/2013 23:00

That link has just made me laugh loud enough to debunk the cat

According to that link it's going to towns that are kindest

LUTON

Grin

Yes, Luton!

Home of the nasty EDL and the rough as a badgers everything else.

ViviDeBeauvoir · 09/11/2013 23:02

I'm another one in the bah humbug brigade.

Loathe coca cola; loathe that they have managed to infiltrate Christmas with a clever marketing ploy, so much so that it is actually part of some people's 'tradition'; loathe going shopping/near shopping centres ever at Christmas time because it is like hell on earth.

CointreauVersial · 09/11/2013 23:07

Do people seriously make a special trip to see a truck full of tooth-rotting fizzy pop?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2013 23:08

They are coming to Bluewater Shopping Centre on the 23rd Dec.

Of all the places in the world that I want to be on the day before Christmas Eve..........Bluewater Shopping Centre is not high up on the list.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 09/11/2013 23:09

Oh I see. No there isn't one near me and my kids wouldn't really understand why I might bundle them into the car and drive half an hour to stand next to a truck for a mini can of coke! In fairness to them though, I don't understand why anyone would do that anyway Grin

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 09/11/2013 23:18

I know it's nearly Christmas because it's fucking November I don't need a symbol of one of the biggest multi national corporations in the world to remind me. Hate CC and all it stands for. See Mark Thomas' s documentary about their practises and consider how festive you feel then. (now that you have piss soggy chips)

AnneOfCleavage · 09/11/2013 23:18

Squeee, it's coming to our town Grin and as DD is now 9 this may be the last year she 'believes' so I will take her along for the festive spirit.

craftynclothy · 09/11/2013 23:31

Why would you want to see a big red truck? Confused

They're missing a trick not sending the Diet Coke man round instead Grin

normaleggy · 10/11/2013 08:21

Of course it's illegal to even have any thoughts about Christmas (not holidays) until the advert comes on, then it's the official start of Christmas, not one if these bootleg starts to Christmas that you see knocking around. Hmm

I'm not bah humbug in any way, I adore Christmas, but this is commercialisation at it's very worst. Oh and I don't give a shit about the ever-dull John Lewis advert either.

BuzzardBird · 10/11/2013 08:30

Oh, is that why cc have been churning out the same dull ad for the last 15yrs?

MARGUERITE18 · 10/11/2013 10:22

We went last year and the year before, last year it was the truck, and a big photo stand where you could line up to get a coca cola bus photo and the year before they had a santa and some gospel singers too

very magical
