Stocking filler ideas for a 3 year old...

I've almost finished my Christmas shopping, but I did a quick check the other day and I have a few more stocking bits for DD1 than for DD2. The problem is, anything I can think of that DD2 would like, DD1 would also like (there are many more things that only DD1 would like, like story cubes for instance). Does anyone have any genius ideas? Preferably not tat.

Bottle of matey bubble bath, books, pencil crayons and colouring book, hat and glove set, chocolate coins, small Lego set. We do a small stocking (plus Santa sack) so not sure if it was little stocking filler ideas you are looking for.

In my 2 year old DD's stocking I'm putting

Finger puppets
Number fridge magnets
Mini hair clips
Wooden necklace and bracelet
Those wow figures that come in a bag.

And some chocolate/fruit.

Any help?

Yes, little stocking fillers - they already both have chocolate coins & santas, wolly hat, colouring pens, pen with their name on, lego mini-figure. The problem with hair clips/bracelets/lego sets etc is that the older one would feel upset that she hadn't had one.

If you search on Amazon for 'Safari Ltd Toobs' you can get tubes of animals or figures that are really cute, my son loves them. They are on the expensive side for stocking fillers though as the cheapest I have got them for is £6.66 but they have a lot of play value.

My son also has in his stocking, a Playmobil mini set (a figure and two sheep), paint pens, a pack of butterfly toys along the same line as the toobs but cheaper (by Wild Republic), a wooden robot figure and some Moshi Monster blind bags.

Not sure if those are any help but they might give you some ideas. Is there any characters she likes?

Is there anything that dd1 already has that dd2 would like too (maybe a different colour or version?). I'm thinking like a torch, happyland family, gloves, little bag?

Otherwise you have to accept your dds will envy each other's gifts a bit. I'm surprised your dd2 won't want what dd1 has om principle, even if they're too old for her. Can you just try to keep them ad equivalent as possible, eg. snap cards instead of story dice.

Craft stuff? Though accept older girl may like too. I just raided wilkinsons for glitter glue, stickers, sequins, googly eyes etc for DD age 3 stocking. She just loves collage pictures.

Lilicat those toobs are ace...I am pinching that idea...

Can they have the same things to avoid fighting?

Last year mine loved curly straws, some mini choc biscuits (to eat immediately), bouncy ball, clockwork tiny toy, giant bubbles, a bath toy, a personalised facecloth (Daddy had one too), novelty toothpaste and brush, slinky...

So far 2yo ds has: Christmas sticker book, metal bus, chocolate coins, bath boats. Will also get some play food (getting kitchen for main present ) and obligatory satsuma :)

We have a similar issue, even though our eldest is a boy and youngest a girl!

Dd is getting:

Thanks all, some good ideas there. Snap cards or similar might be good, or maybe some peppa pig or happy land figures

DS2 is a little bit younger than your DD, but is getting a jigsaw. He's obsessed with them at the moment.

mines getting a recorder, a swim mask, a DVD, 2 Schleik marine animals, a box of dinosaur magnets, a play-back microphone and 2 books will lean on outside of stocking

We have similar issues here; 3 year old DD and 5 year old DS (18 month gap). They have slightly different interests, which helps, but last year DS was most upset that DD got a pair of binoculars and he didn't (despite that being one if only 2 things she wanted that year) and I suspect he'll be equally as upset when she opens her periscope this year. I have 'balanced' that particular present with a Yada Yada Yada voice recorder that I know she'll covet. I could buy 2 of everything, but they share their toys nicely, and duplicating everything means a narrower variety of presents between them IYSWIM. To reinforce this message, FC will be giving them one 'extra' joint present this year, with a note saying how good he hears they are at sharing.

This hasn't helped at all has it?! How about a naice set of wooden play food that they'll invariably end up sharing anyway?

Another idea; could you 'repackage' some of your eldest DD's gifts so they have the same number of presents? E.g. If you've bought her 2 sets of Playmobil figures, you could unbox them and wrap them loose together.
