I have selected the 'lovely' Gabriella for my hair and make-up loving 6 year old DD....

lucysmam · 08/11/2013 21:11

I didn't think to look at styling dolls....been searching through baby dolls. Will have a look and see what others there are (that ones eyes look weird Grin )

I agree, but not quite as freaky as a disembodied head IMO!

My DD begged for and got the Chou Chou baby monitor doll last Xmas but seems to have grown out of it a bit - I thought that this was a good compromise.

Princess Coralie on amazon

Best dolls head ever. She never puts it down. Much better than girls world.
I ordered from German amazon as it was much cheaper.

here

lucysmam · 08/11/2013 21:39

very true gnat (I was never allowed a girls world, wonder if it was because it was just the head Confused )

Maybe I'm going about this all wrong, might just show her some on amazon and see what she likes the look of....ready for letter to Santa writing

Plenty on Petalina in that range.

The Llorona dolls,Gotz Just Like Me,a couple of Corolle Les Cheries......

lucysmam · 08/11/2013 21:53

That's the trouble right there Retro...there are plenty and I can't decide which to get.

Am half tempted with the baby monitor chouchou as she wants a new dollys buggy or pram too.

But she'd love a girls world type one too.

But her birthday is on 25 Jan so could always get something like that then.

Oh I'm an indecisive ass, I wanted to order them & be done picking dolls tonight Hmm

Design a friend argos.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 09/11/2013 07:33

Dd 5 1/2 is getting a design a friend doll from. They have lots of outfits and accessories. I think she will be more into these than the babies on the market.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 09/11/2013 07:33

From argos.

toffeelolly · 09/11/2013 07:55

The design a friend's are great little doll's, getting my dd 7 a few for Christmas and I have been buying lot's of clothes through out the year. They seem to be the in thing for little girls at the moment.

Retropear · 09/11/2013 08:01

One thing with DaF they are soft bodied so not bath able and the hair frizzes-a lot.

Gotz and Corolle hair is fab.

Retropear · 09/11/2013 08:02

I'd print off some pics of a few in your price range and let her choose.

lucysmam · 09/11/2013 08:40

I'll get the 'mummy book' as my girls call it Grin out when she gets in from nana's and let her pick from there.

Who knew picking a doll would be so difficult!

Design a friend are fab! We have 6 between my two girls! I haven't found the hair to frizz at all. I think they are much more geered to over 5s than baby dolls. The good thing is the clothes etc plus you can get them school uniforms on eBay in your school colours. Mine were ecstatic with them - there are few girls in dds school who don't have them!

shoppingbagsundereyes · 09/11/2013 11:21

Ooh jamtoast dd would love a school uniform. Any idea which seller you used or what you put in the search engine to find ones the right size?

Retropear · 09/11/2013 16:00

We have the Frilly Lilly uniform for Gotz Hannah.

lottieandmia · 09/11/2013 16:08

Petalina is very good for dolls for slightly older girls and also My Doll Boutique which sells their own branded clothing for dolls.

shoppingbagsundereyes · 09/11/2013 16:40

Thanks jamtoast
