Can I buy mince pies now for Christmas?

I buy a few treats every week to put by for Christmas. Can I buy mince pies now and save them? I can't check the use by date as I do an online shop with Tesco and they don't put it on the description. Thanks.

Don't think so, not yet

I bought some this week and the use by date is the end of November. I'd hold off a few weeks. Or buy some mincemeat now and make them nearer the time.

No, the use by dates will be quite short on them and you can't freeze them. Buy them 2 weeks before at the most.

The ones we have in work at the moment have end of November dates on.

They won't run out don't panic Grin

Why don't you start a 2p jar & use that to buy them the week before

Plus surely they will be eaten now if you buy them now? And who wants to eat a six week old mince pie Grin

You could make your own and freeze them though. Then they will be ready to warm through in the oven and smell lovely.

Thanks for the replies, so I will hold off. They won't get eaten before though, they will be hidden in my secret Christmas food cupboard. Grin

Thr tescos own brand mince pies arent very nice, they are a bit dry and not generous with the filling.

I get the M&S ones as they are lovely & the filling is generous & moist. They are doing 2 packs for £2 @ the moment but that's no good for you.
