I think DS2 (3) would love one but there seem to be two versions...a cheap one like this and a ££ one like this - which one is best? (I know, it's the expensive one isn't it?)

Has anyone had the cheaper one and is it any good? It doesn't look like it folds away, which is annoying me already.

Is the ££ one worth the cost?

Hi we have the other one but it was only £40 in Smyths toy shop... That was about 6 month ago tbh.

It is a good toy, the lift gets a bit stuck sometimes but otherwise can't fault it.

myflabberisgasted · 07/11/2013 22:04

The 2nd one definitely! My DS (3yo) had this last year for Christmas and still plays with it daily.
I saw the other one in toys r us this week and it didn't look as good... Sorry not what you wanted to hear! Grin

We have the big one, got it last xmsd. My five yr old loves it!

Its on offer on amazon? For £33 at no.

armani · 07/11/2013 22:10

your first link is this years updated version of the batcave and the second link is last years hence the increased price as they are hard to get now.
ds has last years and it is fab. great quality and still played with daily. Although he also really wants this years aswell and at amazons bargain price santa is bringing it for christmas!

DTisMYdoctor · 07/11/2013 22:12

The expensive one is an older model. It's harder to get hold of, hence the cost. DS got it for Christmas last year, but now really wants the latest one (he's got no chance).

I wouldn't pay that much for the older one. DS does play with his, but tbh, it's the figures that get the most play. If it was me I'd grab the newer one while it's that price on Amazon (it might go up in price once the Argos 3 for 2 finishes) and buy a few baddie accessories to go with it (see toysrus, smyths etc - amazon isn't always the cheapest for the accessories).

X-post Armani. My DS would probably swap me for you if he thought he would get the new batcave Grin

Mellowandfruitful · 07/11/2013 22:15

Argh, bought the new Batcave at 26.66 a couple of days ago and now it's dropped again to 23.33! Didn't think they would go lower. Oh well, it's still a good price compared to earlier in the year. I would get it now OP Smile

MairzyDoats · 07/11/2013 22:17

Thanks for the info, I did think it was a lot but that explains it...5madthings can you send me a link to the £33 one? I can only see it at £70!!

Ha, just had a look on ebay, there's a second hand older version bat cave going for (currently) £43! People are insane!

The larger one is under £50 at Toys r us at the moment, think £43 or £46.

MairzyDoats · 07/11/2013 22:29

Grotbagstwin, you are a star, I've just reserved one for collection (about 15 miles away, but still.)

mellow
email amazon and ask for the difference back. i asked yesterday, they replied straightaway saying they would, and I can see it on my online banking for tomorrow.

Mellowandfruitful · 08/11/2013 00:12

Oh, thanks neddle, I wouldn't have thought of that! I'll give it a try.
