Wii U - any good?

We have a Wii, which is well used for platform games.

What is the difference to WiiU?

Are the old Wii games compatible?

I don't know the answers to any of your questions but would be very grateful to hear if anyone does as we are thinking of getting one this year. I was going to start my own thread but now I don't have to!

The wii U has one big controller which is the main difference- about the size of a leappad 2 and has a screen on that means you can play in 'dual mode' the games do work from wii to wii u but personally I'm not a huge fan- plenty of people love it! Not sure if you would have to get two 'big' controls if you have two dc that wan to play multiplayer, but I know that the wii-motes work an most of the older accessories will still work. Things like platform games work well as do 'party' games etc
