We don't live in Australia but we think a BBQ lunch would be a larf. Are we crazed? If not - what should we cook?

I always roast meat on the BBQ. All year round and in Northern Scotland. Putting meat on the BBQ doesn't mean it Tastes like BBQ food. We have a special roaster for birds. A large chicken will roast in about an hour so quite a bit less than the oven.

BBQ is a great idea for Xmas day, but don't do a rank turkey! They are just like big chickens yes they are don't say they are lovely and a big chicken is a bit boring on Christmas day :)
I would love whatever someone cooked me on Christmas day though tbh, (well, maybe not turkey).
We use our bbq all year round though, cook whole chickens, legs of lamb, shoulders of pork and whatever. We marinade it the night before in whatever spices and then DP (who does most of the cooking) fires up the bbq and cooks. Takes hours to do something big but can be left relatively unattended for stretches of time.
I say do it.
