Thought a cheerful thread about Christmas mishaps might be amusing on this drizzly cold morning..
I'll start us off by telling you about the year I was making Christmas dinner for 12 in my tiny kitchen.. I'd par boiled the spuds for roasting and couldnt lift the heavy pan to 'drain and fluff' them so I asked DH to do this for me then git distracted by my then 9month old.. I returned to the tiny kitchen just as DH finished MASHING all the potatoes....... he had mistaken 'fluff' for 'mash'!!!Confused Blush no roasties that year!

or the time when i sent DH up to the loft to retrieve the Christmas decorations and he sheepishly appeared with last years bag of Christmas wrapping/rubbish.. he had mixed up the black bags the previous year and binned most of our tree decorations!! Angry Grin

I'm a lurker not a poster but 1 memorable Christmas sticks in my mind. My son and I were staying at my sisters in southern Spain. It took us hours to get from the airport due to very bad floods. On Christmas morming the kitchen was flooded and we were sweeping the water out of the back door while it was coming in the front door. We had managed to put the turkey on, it's a big kitchen and the oven was not affected by the floods. The turkey caught fire, really big flames! we put the turkey out, carried on with the flood, the dog decided to give birth.....eventually the flood under control the turkey cooked although rather burnt on top, we sat down to eat and the dog did indeed give birth to 2 puppies, the first one we called Jesus of course. we laughed through the whole day!

Me and my dad cooked the turkey upside down one year as we heard it made the meat more succulent.

On removing from the oven we promptly forgot and thought we had the worst turkey ever. We were thinking 'where to hell is the actual meat' !

It was a small Christmas dinner for everyone that year! GrinGrin

Shock Gow, fire and floods and a new baby Jesus! Mine are quite boring in comparison - not that I'm complaining

There were lots of Turkey sandwiches that year, as we realised our error after dinner was finished Smile
