What about that Crayola glow book? And some other arty or gadety bits. Don't know what it's like but looks cool.

Beehatch · 05/11/2013 22:36

Telescope or binoculars
Pebble tumbler (for polishing pebbles)
Spirograph
Crystal growing kit
The Works has a fab looking Volcano and Earthquake kit

MrsCakesPremonition · 05/11/2013 22:37

A John Lewis Mini Sewing Machine £50. Excellent reviews. Saving it up as DD's next birthday present.

paperlantern · 05/11/2013 22:48

why no Internet access?

lilolilmanchester · 05/11/2013 23:24

Clip on kindle light? New kindle cover. New phone case/laptop bag? Extend the art theme to e.g. Card making kit. Does she like baking? Cupcake or cake pop making stuff?

oscarwilde · 06/11/2013 11:57

Nice speakers for music? Or just itunes vouchers

sadsometimes · 06/11/2013 13:00

oh gawd there's so many lovely suggestions here but nothing that's right. Trouble is she has an older sister so already has a lot of techy stuff.

She'd probably like one quite grown up gadgety thing and a lego set Grin

She's quite sophisticated really.

NO internet access as she is addicted to minecraft as it isGrin

Did you know that you can buy origami style minecraft kits for building creations out of cardboard blocks?

insanityscratching · 06/11/2013 14:40

Mrscakes can you post a link to the origanmi minecraft kits pleas? Sounds like something dd would love.

What about an ipod and docking station?

Madamecastafiore · 06/11/2013 14:42

Does she enjoy faffing with her hair? Saw thing on TV that you feed strips of your hair into and tah dah, comes out as ringlets!!

ELR · 06/11/2013 14:52

My dd is 11 today I bought her an ice watch and a sewing machine she loves them both also got her a few other bits.
She also wanted a pogo stick and a superdry hoodie which she can buy with her birthday money.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/11/2013 14:53

I'm pretty sure DDs raspberry pi allowed internet access... not sure whether you actually need it to download stuff onto it.

If she's into technology, there are lots of kits for building robots etc. Maplin is a good place to look and get advice. My DD's presents when she was 11 included her own soldering iron and kits that needed soldering.

If she likes lego, does she have k'nex - they do some really good kits including ones with motors to build vehicles - I think its better than lego in some ways.

ELR · 06/11/2013 14:53

She is getting a hair dryer for Christmas

TheSurgeonsMate · 06/11/2013 14:54

Thought of you while shopping today. I saw Tetris Lights and also this quite attractive animation kit marked 'for use with your camera and phone'.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/11/2013 14:56

My DD is getting an ice watch too - she needed something waterproof with a second hand for sailing. Looks good....bright green!

muddymarvellousdarling · 06/11/2013 18:45

We gave DD(11) an Electronics set from Maplin last Christmas and DS1 electronic engineer is giving DD some easy electronic board sets, for this Christmas.

or maybe a sewing machine/baking stuff with cookbook.

What's your budget? Makes a big difference!

MrsCakesPremonition · 06/11/2013 19:06

Here's a link to minecraft paper craft as requested by insanity. Sorry for the delay in replying.

prettymess · 06/11/2013 19:07

insanityscratching · 06/11/2013 20:30

Wow thank you MrsCakes dd would love the animal set. I'll see what's left of the budget though first as they are quite expensive aren't they?

KrissyNorthants · 06/11/2013 20:32
