She relented (secretly excited really) and let us walk around a toy shop the other day.

She even got in a Little Tikes playhouse, but nearly broke her neck doing so.

We looked at all the playmobil and sylvanian stuff. It was ok, but damn i miss those fiddly little sets.

I have a 3 year old you can borrow. She loves little play set tat like sylvanians.

Oh sorry - I think it might be selling out. It's a cardboard fairy castle a bit like a wendy house you colour in with pens. It's meant for smaller dc really though.

I know how you feel, op. I really do. I dont miss many aspects of their childhoods, been there , done that.

Dd1 is almost 10 and not really into toys anymore, am struggling to find things for her other than pokemon, luckily I have a 7 year old who loves every toy so can still shop in toy shops.

ah Marne. i had a look at dd's pokemone onesie today it's utterly ridiculous had any more luck with the gift ideas.

I went into the toy shop on Monday to buy some Yu Gi Oh cards for DS's stocking (he is 9) Out of habit I looked through the Cars die cast figures which we have about 200 of anyway as I have to ensure they do not have one that DS doesn't have. Lo and behold I spotted a likely candidate, but my frisson of excitement was quashed when I realised that the cars haven't been out of the box for over 6 months.
Cars are officially babyish and have been replaced with trading cards, Minecraft and the guitar :(

the cuddly tow mater got consigned to the charity shop pile two years ago.
i just couldn't so put him in the bottom of one of the tow boxes.

The onesies are huge , sure they will love them though, i'm still stuck on what to get dd1, she went and bought the new pokemon x game with her pocket money so cant get her that , think we might get her a nook or basic kindle but still not sure, she's so hard to buy for. I did find pokemon plush toys in TK max yesterday for £10, they are quite big .

I love playmobil, I have bought a set for dd2 for Christmas, dd1 used to have loads but never really played with it. I bought dd2 lots of plastic tat from argos yesterday (3 for2) but am struggling with dd1, have bought way too much for dd2 but plastic tat is so cheap compared to the sort of thing dd1 likes, I know dd2 will play with almost anything I get her so she's so easy to buy for and easy to get carried away. I have finished buying for dd2 ( must not pick up anything else ) and have got loads for little money.
