Looking for day's out to take 9yo dd to get into the Crimbo swing. We're in Berkshire but wouldn't mind travelling 50miles or so for the right experience. Anything good coming up. Looked at Lapland UK in Windsor but it looked a bit baby'ish ?

We are booked in for LaplandUK but my two are definite believers (5yrs and 2.5yrs)depends if your DD would love the magical-ness or find it babyish I guess --I'm nigh on 40 and can barely wait so I don't get the babyish thing at all--

What about a trip to London for the store fronts at Harrods etc... tricky age I think!

Hi Tilly in same postion as you watching with interest.

I am sure you have been to WW, you need to pick your time, we went on a sunday at 4pm and could barely move, but its nice if not crowded.

I am looking at Longleat, its the closest thing to us I can see that has a sort of all round ...experience !! Apart from Lapland thing which I would do in a flash but just seems to ££££ for us, our area seems to be hiding its christmas stuff under a bushel.

JacqueslePeacock · 04/11/2013 18:56

We are also considering Longleat, which looks lovely - something for all ages. I think I got the recommendation from someone on here, in fact!

Last year we went to Blenheim Palace to see their decorations and visit with Father Christmas, it was really lovely but we had annual passes so not sure about ££

Waddesdon is nice enough, but just nothing extra to do there really and house area thats done up quite small. I am looking forward to going, but it aint no chatsworth.

National trust properties usually have lovely Xmas activities on:

Might be a bit far but Leeds Castle? They have Xmas activities. Windsor on Ice?

SugarplumKate · 05/11/2013 09:41

Winchester Christmas market. National trust Basildon House was lovely last year. We are doing Santa on the Watercress Line too and Paultons Park.

I have just used tesco club card vouchers to book tickets for Longleat - only £4.50 of vouchers needed for one Christmas ticket (Santa train and ice skating extra). Can't wait!
