DS will be 6 after Christmas. Would like to get a game. He plays with snakes and ladders and he likes Jenga. Any ideas ? I have seen Bop It mentioned somewhere on a thread - is it any good but is he too young ?

Bop it is good, my DS is 5 & loves it but rarely gets very far.
He also likes playing our own simplified version of monopoly (I believe there are child versions but we just made up new rules for adult one)
Other favourites include Jenga, Twister, Pop to the shops (although all the adults hate this), jolly octopus, rocket game, buckaroo, dominos,

Orchard Games are fantastic.

Junior monopoly.
Qwirkle
Lego shave the sheep
Smart games Castle Logix or Traffic Jam (logic puzzles, can be played alone)

SamsGoldilocks · 29/10/2013 08:33

Qwirkle is great fun and very easy but can be made more complex.

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 08:38

And Uno.

My DD really likes animal upon animal

Second for animal on animal. Also guess who goes down well.

We have lots of Orchard games but DD6 has got a bit board of them.

Big hits in our house are
Monopoly junior
The game of life
Guess who
The hobbit
Mastermind
Cluedo
And tons of card games like UNO, Pictureka, Monopoly Deal.
Oh and we've discovered game wright games - rat a tat cat, sleeping queens, too many monkeys - are all great
