Each year I make a few different decorations, gradually getting rid of the plastic tat

I meant will add those to the ones I've saved to try out!! Confused

chanie44 · 26/10/2013 11:49

I love the felt baubles, so I'm marking my place to make those.

ellaballoo · 26/10/2013 12:29

I just made a snowflake ...so impressed with myself.thanks.

steppemum · 26/10/2013 12:44

showed this to my dd and she is now making a snowflake!

I love the felt, very simple, but very pretty. I like the suggestion of putting pearl/bead at each place you stitch.

dcs and I will try those at christmas. (they may become teachers christmas pressies!)

We made loads of the snowflakes the past couple of years - they look great where there's a lot of different sizes all grouped together.

Can I make one suggestion though? In that tutorial it says to use glue - I used a stapler and it was much quicker and easier (especially for the younger ones). That was after a bit trial and error with different glues and double sided tape.

And I'm pretty lazy efficient Wink

Rubybrazilianwax · 26/10/2013 18:35

Yes definitely as turnip says, stapler is a must for those. I've mine hanging on a rail in the attic so hope they have survived from last year. This year I'm planning to do huge red tissue paper pom poms to put between the white snowflakes.so easy
Handmade felt ornaments are probably the easiest to do for the tree.
I have also made a tree topper star using the 20cm long cinnamon sticks

Gatekeeper · 27/10/2013 06:05

ohh those tissue stars are so pretty; no good on our soaked-with-condensation windows though, but nice to do a few and string them together

Those snowflakes look so easy to make but so pretty!

DrownedGirl · 19/11/2013 17:09

What size of thread and needle works best with felt?

574ejones · 19/11/2013 19:57

I know this is in German, but these look lovely. I'm going to have a go at them this year.
