Magma is an amazing bookshop that sells all sorts of beautiful and interesting things.

I think they do online shopping.

Oh yes please, brilliant request OP . I have no ideas to offer but would love to buy something for ds3 , he is currently teaching himself Japanese through the medium of anime....funny lad I know :)

I've got a 12 year old the same.

anime republic

forbidden planet

Waterstones

HMV

CEX

Tokyotoys

would do links but PC doesn't seem to want to this evening

Is there anything in particular you are looking for e.g. is it books, games or accessories?

Sounds great to me mrsB! I was actually thinking of learning a few Japanese bits sometime with my 6yo as I'm getting quite into studio ghibli.

I'm vaguely considering trying to make something naruto-ish for DSD but I'll see what's out there first. Am looking at manga drawing guides/manga pens possibly.

Probably quirky accessory type bits for DSD - clothing/jewellery/bag maybe? Although will gratefully accept any suggestions :o

I've got a crying boy as the Full Burst version of Naruto PS3 game was due out today so he sold his normal version and now it seems it isn't coming out until January!!

DN gets lots of hers from ebay. She is giving me a christmas list to choose from as I am clueless!

soontobeslendergirl · 25/10/2013 21:30

eldest used Promarkers for his drawing as they give a nice finish.

Interesting thread. My dsd 16 yrs is into manga and not a girlie girl so struggle to find stocking filler type things for her.

MotherofthreeDragons · 26/10/2013 11:22

Great thread OP,
Have had 5 years of the manga related hunt for pain in the bum to buy forDD (13)

So far I have found Ebay the best for plushies and accessories. There are quite a few uk based sellers that import a lot of Naruto, Hetalia and Ghibli things.

Do you have a works? Or another book shop like that? I got quite a few drawing guides for there, very cheep. Or Amazon for the more specialized books.

Amazon also have a few good sellers that sell things from America, there is one called Rocking robot (I think) but takes a while to deliver ovbs.

This year I'm hoping to get her -

Copic pens, apparently these are what most Manga artists use, from Amazon, they come in nice little sets with all be colours you need for a character.

Ts and accessories from Pulp not manga, but her and her Manga loving friends love the store.

Japanese sweeties from Cybercandy

She has a room full of Plushies and posters and can't think of anything else! So hoping for inspiration here Wink

quertee.com can be good for t-shirts but you have to know your characters as it doesn't tell you which series they are from and Manga only comes up every so often.

fuzzpig · 26/10/2013 15:20

Wow really pleased with so many things to look at thanks :)

Anyone know any particular drawing guides that are good? I've seen quite a few around but not sure which to go for (will look in the works too) - DSD so far has mainly been copying existing characters from online pics so not quite confident enough to make up her own, but I think a decent book could provide inspiration :)

She is supposed to be going to comicon tomorrow (not sure due to weather warnings :() hopefully that might provide inspiration for gifts too!
