Its our first proper xmas this year and I am really excited , what you getting the children and what to do you do to make the day special ?

This year we are going to get DS (22months) a scooter as his main present, plus stuff for his stocking.

DM has bought him a toy kitchen which I think he will love!

I have persuaded DH to buy a real tree this year, and we're going to buy a few new decorations :)

DD is desperate for a hello kitty bike and a swimming Dora doll so I've got those as well as some books, a couple of games and a few little bits and pieces.

Mil is getting her a new doll and a skateboard and she'salso getting lots of craft bits, make your own kits and more games.

Basically, she's getting far to much but we have a huge family who insist on buying huge amounts!

To make the day special we stay at home, have a lovely lunch and just enjoy the 3 year old, in the run up we make a gingerbread house, decorate the tree, visit Santa, make decorations, take parcels to the Xmas toy appeal drop off, drop a parcel with the food bank (including some choc coins) make cards and gifts, do elf on a shelf and generally make a huge deal out of the giving side of Christmas.

Dd2 is getting moshi monster mall, moshi monster skittles, my little ponies, playmobil pool, book and crafty bits.

We do Christmas Eve pj's and a book or DVD ( to keep them quiet ). And we are having a real tree this year for the first time .

My older son (age four in March) will be having the Leappad 2 plus game, a wooden garage, Playmobil (aeroplane and penguins), Take n Play penguin set, Schleich shark scenery set, Leapfrog Count and Scan and Leapfrog Farm Mash Up.

He has got more big presents than I usually do because they were on sale, the Leappad was £45, the garage and aeroplane were half price and the Playmobil penguin set was £5. I usually have his list a bit more balanced with one clear main present and the rest smaller ones.

My younger son (age one in January) will be having a vTech baby walker, cuddly Mickey Mouse, push along chicken, pack of three Toot Toot cars, blocks, Laugh and Learn remote control, wave drum and a 'Frog in a box'

Both will also have two books each. My older son has a sea life one with sounds and a penguin one and my young son has 'That's Not My Tiger' and 'My Zoo'

Playmobil mostly, and lego.

Adding in some family activities we can do too, crafty bits, nice puzzle, board game. Hopefully some cooking in the lead up to Xmas too.

Also making them a den hidden behind DD's cabin bed, putting light and cushions etc behind it and will probably hide their Xmas eve pjs/book (the grinch this year as they are really into dr Seuss) maybe with a treasure map to lead them there.

What I'm really excited about (but also quite nervous!) is that for the first time I'm attempting to make a couple of presents (most notably a simple costume for DS) eeek

HK breakfast toy (he asked for this specifically and I have managed to find such a thing for £4 - it is a horrid plastic bag with HK on the front and a plastic plate and croissant, but I will have fulfilled a wish!)

Stocking will have the usuals listed above and whatever pink, sparkly, HK type stuff I can get the cheapest - will include a tiara.

Yes, they are very different, my boys...

We will get a real tree a couple of weeks into December from local forest on a Saturday. We will bring it back and decorate it and then have fondue for tea on the floor beneath the lit-up tree. That is a very random tradition I started last year. We will then watch a Christmas film for the first time this year.

Christmas Eve, on returning from a walk, the boys will receive onsie each, dressing gown and animal hot water bottles.

Pillow pets for my girls, books, a jigsaw each, chocolate, pyjamas, craft items, new knickers and vests.

We don't spend much, but they don't seem to mind!! I love Christmas since having children. It's magical.

I'm on the bones of my arse this year so will be trying to follow the something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read. I will then do them a stocking each.

Something they want will hopefully be a second hand iPod touch each
Something they need will be a docking station/ alarm clock for DD1 and electric tooth brush for DD2 and DD3
Something to wear is at the moment undecided but might do slippers
Something to read will be a cheap book from the book people

The stocking will include a DVD each, a small Lego or Playmobil set, chocolate and maybe some socks :)

To be honest I'm not sure I will be able to afford this so might have to slim it down further. It is DD1's birthday just before Christmas and have no idea what to get her for that!

Lecce it is great you managed to fulfill your son's wish for a Hello Kitty breakfast toy. I would have had no idea where to start looking if I had been asked for that. I would have assumed it was a toy the child had made up in their imagination rather than something real that was actually for sale. I am sure he will be so excited, it will be lovely.

I love that they do Sylvainian Gerbils now, that sounds cute. I might have to try and tempt my son in to them. I doubt it will work unfortunately, he prefers his animals ultra realistic and usually sea creatures/penguins. He doesn't like labels on his toys I wouldn't like to see his reaction to clothes (he is autistic).

Fuzzpig, I love the den idea. That will be such a memorable Christmas present. I would have loved that as a child.

I've got no idea! Have 2 of my DCs birthdays in November and another 12 family and friends before Christmas and always struggle to get my head around the birthdays before working out the Christmas presents.
We have got DS (soon to be 2) a balance bike from FC. We got it for him in the summer but it was too big for him so we put it away for later.
Apart from that, I have bought a few stocking bits. No idea on the main present for the DDs though.
And now feeling slightly stressed as everyone here looks like they're sorted. Aaaarrrghhh!

Dashoflime good choice on the fisher price train, it's still going strong in our house! DS usually evicts the animals and piles it up with bricks!

DD (13 months) will be getting a small wooden train set of her very own to discourage her from eating her brother's.

BeaWheesht Spy manual is called Spy Guidebook by Colin King and is on Amazon. Sorry I can't do links . Reviews seem promising and at that price it's worth the risk! I'm hoping it'll be a nice balance of stuff he can do alone and stuff we can do together.
