we normally have a string of flashing white lights in out lounge window, looking for something different this year though.

This year I'm going for a hanging star, lit by led and from poundland
Smile

My mum has one that is light and variably shimmers glows and flashes but it's not in your face at all, I think from habitat years ago. HTH

I have a string of about 6 led snowflakes I got in b&q a few years ago. They look sweet

WallyBantersJunkBox · 25/10/2013 23:13

We have those IKEA snowballs. We have 6 French windows on the living room side and 4 on the dining room side so a lot of glass - these are the only strands long enough and big enough to cover the windows (and cheap enough).

They are a bit cold though, and don't twinkle.

Snowflake window reusable stickers. Love these so much, I've bought more this year to do window upstairs too (my DD loved helping out them up last year)

OurMrsReynolds · 26/10/2013 11:11

those gel window decorations that say merry christmas and whatnot, and usually some canned snow Grin

TessCackle · 26/10/2013 11:18

Ooooooh snow in a can!!! May have to get some this year now.

DTisMYdoctor · 26/10/2013 11:57

Our tree goes in front of the window, but we also use the snowflake stickers linked above.

ZombieBelle · 26/10/2013 12:30

window stickers usually, but now im tempted by canned snow!

Elsiequadrille · 26/10/2013 13:26

We have an ivy garland on the window ledge in the sitting room, and a small wooden nativity scene. Nothing on the window itself. We did snowflake window stencils in the playroom a year or so ago. Those were nice

Our kitchen is at the front so I hang a lit snowflake in the centre of the window, and some iridescent 'furry' snow flakes around it hanging on those clear suction hooks. I mainly do this for the primary school DC enjoyment going to and from school.

At the lounge patio window there is a golden twiggy/berry garland again secured by the suction hooks, and I hang from this a few twiggy stars on different lengths of thin gold ribbon.

We have fairy lights and an ancient star made from silver tinsel & coat hangers - I think it's about 25 years old and looking slightly tatty now.

SinisterMatic · 26/10/2013 14:58

We have window gels that spell ' let it snow', I would really like some lights ...where could I find canned snow?

Shosha1 · 26/10/2013 15:01

As we never pull our curtains (nobody can actually see in as we live 'up' the hill from the people opposite) I put one of my wreaths in the window :)

footflapper · 26/10/2013 15:02

I'm thinking of getting a white feather boa.. Simple and effortless Wink

Rear of house is all glass so hang huge paper snowflakes all along. In one of the other rooms I hang over sized baubles at varying lengths along thr curtain pole, with twinkling icicle lights
