Will a dolls' house work as a joint gift for 2.5 and 5.5 year old?

Was thinking of getting a dolls' house for my DDs - age 2.5 and 5.5. Could this work as a joint present or is 5.5 too old for a dolls' house? Any recommendations of good ones? We have a small, basic Little People one but was thinking of a bigger one. TIA.

Ooh I don't think 5.5 is too old at all - I would have said 2.5 possibly too little? How are they at sharing toys like this where they have to co-operate and play together at the same time? I would be tempted to leave it for next year, TBH.

My 5.5yo dd still enjoys playing with her doll house, and her 2yo sister is starting to play with it too.

My nearly 2yo has been playing with a dolls house for months. Her Brother 6 enjoys it too.

They have their moments, Berstie, but are generally good at joint play! Can I ask which dolls' houses you have, Chaos and Lagoon?

My dd's have the ELC Mansion doll house and they love it, it's played with every day. They are 4 and 2 and got it last year for christmas, it was more for my eldest but my just turned 2 year old has recently started properly playing with it and has moved her peppa figures in :)

My DDs 5 & almost 3 love their dolls house and I dont play with it at all either nor did I just give it a total makeover with Rosebud furniture from eBay

ummm.....if they scrap like my two (same age gap) .....no!!!!! They are incapable of playing with it together without trying to kill each other!

(but they do each enjoy it on their own)

Toys r us universe of imagination range has a few styles including a £50 one with furniture

Hobbycraft has a dolls house with furniture included in the £50 price which will be available from Nov
