Lalaloopsy and Sofia Amulet

My DD almost 3 wants a Lalaloopsy doll and Sophia the first Amulet. Has anyone's DDs got them? Are they worth the money? The dolls are almost £30 Hmm if they were rag dolls, I would buy without consideration for her, but I do prefer the look of the Disney animator plastic dolls (for half the price)

The Amulet has awful reviews, but if that what's she wants, shall I just buy?

Sometimes amazon reduce the lalaloopsy prices - I got DD one that was £15 rather than £25, she loves it.

Don't know about the Sofia thing, is that a new Disney character?

SirDoris · 24/10/2013 20:14

Lalaloopsy dolls are in the Sainsburys toy sale. Think they were £15.

Hmm having looked at the amulet on amazon I can see why you are unsure - I was imagining a normal plastic necklace but £20 Shock maybe leave it a bit longer to see if she mentions it again?

Mind you one review did say not good for such young girls as the card thingies are more likely to break.

Walk away from the lala doll. Bought one for DD complete waste of money.

Dd1 is desperate for a sofia amulet, and a dress - she's 5 and tall and I was tearing my hair out trying to find the dress in her size for less than £30 - then last week I finally found one in tesco for £12 Grin. My sister will be buying the amulet.

She had a lalaloopsy last year - not one of the big ones but a smaller one and she's hardly played with it. She's got lots of the tiny ones and the carry case that looks like a house, she plays with those a lot more. I really like the house, although the cardboard bed lasted until Boxing Day before it fell to pieces Hmm.

SirDoris! Apologies for hijack but I NEED to know (I did ask once a long time ago but I think it got lost in a big thread).

Is your name inspired by the Big Knights?

The amulet is actually really annoying...

It has the most ridiculous clasp that even I can barely do, not to mention my three year old.

It comes with a little pack of cards that you slide in and they make the amulet say different things, but my DD can't put them in properly by herself and gets frustrated.

Taking it off the stupid chain and putting in on an elastic one and not using the cards with it has made it better, but she also has an amulet that came free with Sofia magazine, and she plays with it much more!

She loves lalaloopsy too, and they get played with a lot... Half price in sainsburys right now.

Oh, when was the mag out curious? She screams when it's on the TV, but you have echoed the reviews I have read, I can imagine tears on Xmas day because she can't do it (she is fearsomely independent) so I think that's a no, thanks.

Oh, thanks all, will check out sainsburys! I have found a Xmas like candy cane one in Argos for £20 (£5 off I think) I didn't know there were mini ones! They might be better as she is getting a wooden doll house as her main pressie.

I do want to but the Disney collector dolls, because they are stunning, but I showed her them on the website and she isn't interested, darn! Grin

It was out about two months ago I think, I'm not sure you'll be able to get it now, maybe eBay though?

I forced the Disney dolls on my DD and she loves them now Wink she's even asked for Tiana for Christmas!

MotherofthreeDragons · 24/10/2013 21:00

I'll check eBay, thanks.

Forced the Disney doll on DD Grin love it! They are beautiful! And I think the Tiana is £15 at the mo, I think I she might like the Ariel one Wink

The amulet is £15 in Argos and Smyths

2anddone · 24/10/2013 22:20

The amulet was in our sainsburys toy sale, think it was £12.
