I fancy something like the top pic in this link

A smaller, real tree in a metal pail. Nice and simple and can be put.on a table away from.toddler. Is it just bloody Pinterest making me want a new project?

Anyone else not go for the full on the floor tree?

I have a 5.5ft tree in one end of my L shaped lounge, but it can't be seen from the dining table in the other. So there is a small tree in that end on a small bookcase. When sitting on the sofa, both trees can be seen and look lovely lit up.

I like that little tree you linked to, if you wanted a bit more 'fir' you could decorate a garland for a shelf or mantel to match. Make more of high up decorations which are out of reach. I like the window decs in pic.13 too.

That looks delightful! I have a small living tree (approx. 1m including the pot) which I position on a table (approx. 60cm tall) so that it's at a decent height but less of a temptation for interference from small people and cats. Table is draped with white fabric; tiny presents go on the table and larger ones on the floor surrounding the table.

Thanks for the responses! We have a 4ft plastic crappy tree five years old and i just fancied a fresh one plus like the quirkiness of it. All our decs are nordic IKEA so I think theyd look good.on a little potted tree.

No fireplaces so cant have a wreath (though id love one), but I might make a little decoration for the small doning table.
