A camera for DD age 8 with a screen on the front.

I would like to buy DD a camera with a little screen on the front. I am not sure what they're called?

She has SEN and she finds it hard to smile and look at the camera the same time. I'm hoping with the screen on the front where she can see herself when someone is taking Photo of her and will be easier.

Anyone have them? Are they any good? Don't want to buy anything expensive as it will be used and carried daily to school.

Th Kidizoom ones can flip round so you can see yourself at the same time as taking a photo.

Ideally viking I would want to have a 'proper' camera as she is very aware and doesn't want to be like a baby. Sad

You can tell her my 11 yo DS asked for one last Christmas as his "real" camera wasn't quite as fun Grin as his little sisters Kidizoom!

To make myself clear... She would think a kidizoom is for baby's and want to be like her peers.

If she is worried about looking babyish had you considered some kind of iPod or older smartphone? Very portable, camera can be flicked round easily (though she would have to take the picture herself IYSWIM. Not sure I have ever seen a camera with two screens) and she could also listen to music etc on it if she was into that sort of thing.
We have a Griffin Survivor case for our iPad and I'm sure there must be similar cases for other types.

This Samsung looks good. You can get a refurbished one on Amazon for £40.

It even seems to have a feature where it counts down to the photo and then takes two in rapid succession.

There are cameras with two screens - eg this one or ones with a screen at the back that can flip up/out to be seen from the front too, eg like this one. But I'm not sure how robust either of them would be for daily use in school by an eight-year-old.

oldroan yes, they are the ones!

TBH she won't be using it much I suppose as her LSA would be using it most to make sure DD is included in the pics to do social stories etc.

Will have a look at refurb ones.
