I have 4 DC, 11,8,6 and 3.....all boys.

We currently have a Wii , but it is on the way out and would like to update for Christmas.

Has anyone any advice on what to go for next? Wii U rather, xbox etc...

Many thanks.

For those age ranges you might be safe sticking with the Wii. Have they enjoyed playing on it?

Money wise replacing it means you still have the current games. My main factor would be that you can have four controllers at once playing on the Wii compared to the other consoles so none of the boys are left out.

with the wii u you will have the other games that'll work on it plus the tablet thing you can play on a different game on it whilst some one else is playing on the wii.. may be a good thing?

you also cant get mario on any thing other than the wii..so if your kids like mario id stick with the wii you.

Sorry, disappeared for the whole day!

Thanks very much for your advice. The sainsburys price sounds very good, but am leaning towards the wii . Will sleep on it!

4 boys here too, 11,9,7 & 5. We always had the wii and they still put it on now and again but last year we got an xbox. They mostly play the lego harry potter & starwars games, minecraft or fifa games. But we did have to draw up an xbox contract for each of them to sign, to make sure time was shared lol

Is the x box 360 the old one or new one?

I know nothing about it! Is £170 a good price?

Which games are good for 11 year old?

Thanks

alwaysneedaholiday · 24/10/2013 19:23

Xbox one is the new one.

Xbox 360 is on amazon for £160 including fifa game.

I did read a review saying the old xbox is better than the new one!

Blimey that's a big difference! Why so much for the new one!

XBox 360 sounds the one for me!

Could you recommend some good games? Can you play Minecraft on it?

Thanks!

alwaysneedaholiday · 24/10/2013 19:35

Sorry, i have no idea. Think I'm going for the Wii u, but not finally decided!

wonderingsoul · 24/10/2013 20:07

yes you can play minecraft on, the 360 is still very good. i think the only reall differeance is the blue ray isnt it? other than that the graphics are still good and wont make any differance to a child.

MrsSickBucket · 24/10/2013 20:34

xBox 360 is still a great machine. It won't have blu ray like the xBox One but the main thing you'll need to consider is that future xBox games won't be backwards compatible to play on the old system.

wonderingsoul · 24/10/2013 21:04

but you can still buy them via the online bit surely?

WallyBantersJunkBox · 24/10/2013 21:56

X box 360 without hesitation.
