Salmon?, vacherin cheese? Party food?

We're doing a cold buffet Christmas Eve, going to cook a ham during the day, then add some nice bread, cheese, salad, prawns, still thinking of other bits but probably sausage rolls, dips etc. DP has demanded some chips too!!! :)

we have hot roast pork sandwiches infront of a film :-)

We have a julbord

I got to Waitrose or M&S for some nice buffet bits. If M&S don't have them I make my own filo pastry, cranberry and camembert parcels.

I also do sometimes do fresh bread into small pieces baked in the oven, then back in again with some fresh basil covered with cheese.

I usually have quite a few to feed, so I roast a large joint. Pork by preference.

Then I provide hot raosted meat sandwiches, pickles etc. And we cut into the Xmas cake.

Plus lots of fizz Grin.

We have (with boring but lovely predictability) a roast Gammon - this year I'm doing a spicy one from The Incredible Spice Men book, dauphinoise potatoes and peas. And lots of Wine obviously.

We go out to eat. All family, in laws, parents, siblings, nieces & nephews. A few of our best friends and our DC.

Usually our local Thai restaurant, or else an Italian, we go early, about 6.30 so that we have enough time afterwards to get home and read The Night Before Christmas and put out Santa's cookies... And everyone comes back for it Smile

So... Beef rendang, nasi goreng, roti bread, sing chow, green curry, duck & lots and lots of wine Wink

I have 14 on Xmas eve and usually do a cold buffet, smoked salmon pinwheels (ham for those who don't like smoked salmon), tuna and cucumber bites, poached salmon and dill blinis, cheese board, ham, naice bread, open sandwiches, pâté and mini desserts. Lots of fizz! Going to do some mulled wine too this year and dc recite 'twas the night before Christmas' we have Christmas Eve pressies (just small token gifts). We ring sleigh bells for the dc so they know that Santa is coming
