Ideas for Christmas gifts for DH

So, lovely mumsnetters, what are you buying your DH's /partners /boyfriends for Christmas this year? I am really stuck as my DH is really difficult to buy for as there is never anything he really wants! I did think of an ipad but not sure if he would use it and I don't know anything about them so cannot judge if it would be useful/fun for him or not. We have a PC and a laptop so it would have to do something they didn't to be worth buying. We also both have Kindles (last years presents to one another). Any/all ideas very welcome. I suffer from a chronic health condition and he is so good and does a lot of the housework and all the food shopping and cooking and I really want to spoil him this year.

I'm buying dp a nice copy of his favourite book from the folio society, a game called tafl and some tools for when we're reenacting and a pasta maker.

I bought DP shares in a greyhound via a syndicate nt for everyone but he will be over the moon!

He would probably love the pasta maker attheendofthe day and the DVD's prettyplease. He never wears pyjamas (would insert embarrassed emoticon if I knew how to do it) or a jumper. Never seems to feel the cold. Thanks for those ideas.

Oh gosh yes and the new Jamie Oliver book and a bottle of rum.

Oh yeah boxers and socks. I find it off putting that his mum still buy these for him

OH and I tend to get each other stockings as we focus on the children.

I bought dh a personised ordinance suvey map last year, hes mountain biking mad so had a photo of him biking on the frount with the title DH.s escape route :)

He loved it, havent a clue what to get this year though.

Some of these are great. I love the map one, so personal. The problem I have with dh is that he's just not really into anything specific. Although he's recently joined a gym and has been going pretty regularly. Any ideas for any gifts that he could use for that?

I also like the idea of a day out with a mate or two. Might have a word with a good friend of mine as he is good friends with her husband also and we might be able to do something like that for them. Although I've no idea what.

I've bought him some new trainers and will also get the usual chocs, slippers, underwear and nice smellies but would love an idea for something a little bit special and not too expensive

What does he do at the gym?

These leather wristbands are cool I saw these on Reasties Christmas thread and ordered one for my DH with the Ds's names on, it's really lovely.

I did actually buy him a garmin running watch last Christmas as he was training for the marathon but he injured his leg and can't run anymore which is the main reason he joined the gym. Also worksout with a very experienced friend who pretty much acts like his own personal trainer. But I like the idea of a sports massage, I'll definitely look into that!

For the day out with the friends husband would they use tickets for anything eg rugby or footie match, motorbikes ?

Segway trip.

I bought my brother a glider day for his 40th which he loved.

Does he enjoy cooking rather than see it as a chore ? Maybe one of the waitrose cookery school sessions. Am thinking of getting my DH voucher for the Fish one.

Dp is getting:
Handmade pjs ( i have so far cut out the back )
Hand knitted socks (he asked for these)
One of those gerber/bear gryls knives if my business does well in the next couple of months

Thank you for all your wonderful ideas. Have only just got back here as have had in-laws staying (always something of a trial!). Am now going to make a list of your ideas and tick off the ones I think he would most like (must try to keep in budget this year though). He never actually asks for anything so I have to use my initiative and it's running low this year. Thanks again.

Phoebe47 I know how you feel, I have been with Dh 20 years, we used to go mad buying each other stuff before Ds's arrived but now we don't spend that much on each other but still like to get something different!
