I need a talking makka pakka

DS2 would really like a makka Pakka but only amazon seems to sell them and they are £30!! (The one that talks). According to the reviews it should be more like 16 or 20, so I'm balking a bit. But nowhere else I can see has them.

Any other ideas? Not keen to use eBay in this case as its a plush toy and in case of fakes.

I got mine from argos when they did the 3 for 2 and have seen them in tesco. All were about £15ish each.

Thanks woowoo- with the Argos ones, I did look at those but in the reviews it said you couldn't necessarily pick the character. Were you able to?
Tescos seem to have stopped them :(

You can't pick characters but in the past I have asked at counter for a specific character and they will normally pick the one you want x

Yes with Argos where they have several characters as one item number they usually bring out what they have and you choose.. bit of a pain as you have to pay first and geta refund if they dont have what you want

Leilandri · 13/10/2013 10:04

If you go to the tills to pay in Argos you can choose to do Customer View. The item(s) come to customer service desk and you only pay then for what you want.
I got the upsy daisy and macca pakka from Argos and they're good. They make about 5 dofferent noises.

I went to Argos and discovered that these toys were in the 2 for £15 offer. So I picked another toy, queued and waited.....but they only had the other 2. But I wanted the other item in the offer, so have ended up buying upsy daisy.

So still no Makka Pakka :(
You'd think they would've worked out that he's the most popular and ordered some more. The man said they had been out of stock for weeks.

I saw a talking one on tesco direct website a few weeks ago, was exclusive to them. can't remember how much it was maybe around £20?

WooWoo86 · 13/10/2013 20:39

I asked before I paid at argos and the bloke sent someone up to the store room to see which ones they had In stock. They had 5, luckily they had 1 of each with 2 extra iggles. My boy's mad about ITNG and has taken them to bed every night since last christmas. He says a few things and sings his song.

pudseypie · 13/10/2013 20:51

Just looked and they are £15 in tesco but out of stock at the moment but you can do a stock alert so they email you when its back in depending on how long you can wait I guess.

We had that problem last year. I don't know where my mother in law managed to find one in the end, but it's loved dearly. Just beware, you can't take the talky bit out if you want to wash it, because some weirdow thought it would be good to attach it to the insides.

SugarHut · 14/10/2013 16:39

Have you heard one? I ended up hiding ours. I can still hear it now. ..."hum dum! agga pang!"

?Shudders?
