That awkward age!! She's not old enough for somethings but too old for everything else!!

She's my niece and very arty, creative and girly but has a LOT of stuff, she's an only child and my SIL spoils her rotten buys her things on a "whenever she wants it" basis - dont get me wrong, she's not a little brat but is spoilt by her parents.

I've done pamper vouchers, make-up, shopping vouchers in the past and I'm running out of ideas!

What are 10 year olds into?

Thanks

Hello

Not sure for a ten year old but as she is creative do you know if she has any Dejco stuff yet?
Amazing beautful stuff, try Brightminds, or AlexandAlexa, lots of stuning ideads there...

My step daughter is 10, amongst a few bigger things we're getting her a card making kit from amazon, slushy cup, diary with a padlock, itunes voucher, Jacqueline Wilson book, wii game. It's a really tricky age!

EustaciaVye · 11/10/2013 16:11

My DD is nearly 10.

She wants a Nerf Rebelle, Monster High stuff, inline skates, a 'proper' purse and handbag from her relatives.

lade · 11/10/2013 16:35

My DD will be ten by Christmas. She wants:

Stompies
Onesies
Pineapple clothing
Real (grown up jewellery)
Despicable me 2 DVD (out late Nov)
Latest now album
Stuff for her hobbies.
iTunes voucher if she has an iPod
Claire's vouchers always goes down well.

She's also getting a two day break at a PGL camp. That's £100 for one night / two days. They also do day camps for £40 if she happens to live close to one.

Also, has she got any hair curlers / tongs? My DD loved hers. They're all getting into that makeup phase!

dd is just 9 but ary & crafty.

Harumika sets are popular and they have just done a up bedroom design set, Klutz craft books are very good ones like this www.amazon.co.uk/Paper-Fashions-Klutz-Editors/dp/1570545340, and she has just started eyeing up the decopatch stuff in hobbycraft.

I work in yr5/6 (ages 9-11). Lots of the children, both boys and girls, are really into David Walliams' books. Gangsta Granny and The Demon Dentist are what they seem to be choosing at the moment.

Some lovely ideas, thanks everyone :)

Klutz paper fashions books were a huge hit for my 9yr old niece. She also likes fashion angels stencil books.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 12/10/2013 17:20

I was about to come on suggesting jewellery but I see someone beat me to it! My DD is asking for a charm bracelet - she likes the idea if getting extra charms for significant events in future - but a locket or necklace with her initial on it would also go down well. Or a Hobbycraft voucher to buy extra supplies is popular - kid's craft kits can be all about packaging and a bit disappointing in the actual making, but a voucher means getting to choose the particular decoupage papers or beads she wants.

I was hoping for some great inspiration here. Keep trying everyone - DD is nearly 11 and I am struggling as the rest of the family spoil her too.
She has asked for a TV in her room - NO WAY and an ipad but other than that no real clues.
The David Walliams books are good - DS and DD have read them all.
DD has a charm bracelet from last Christmas which she loves - so great ideas for others. Ditto the hobbycraft voucher - although our house is full of half finished projects.

What we have/getting:
Ereader
Wooden easel with canvas/drawing books/various pencils and paints- just spent around £20 on the works and got loads.
Monster high stuff- the roller skates are on the list
Slushy cup

A onesie- should go down very well!

ellasmum1 · 12/10/2013 20:07

my 10 year old dd wants a nintendo 3ds xl this year.
Last year got her a chromebook from amazon for £200 and she has used that every day pretty much...its excellent for online stuff.
She also uses her trampoline and bike every day.
She also loves nice paperchase stationary and pens/pencils/cases.

ellasmum1 · 12/10/2013 20:09

oops think my post was a bit useless for a niece!(too expensive)
My daughter would be delighted with an Amazon voucher these days!!or WH Smith voucher to pick her own bits

squiddle · 12/10/2013 20:22

Dd's favourite birthday gift was a pencil case filled with interesting unusual (ish) stationery - mini highlighters, mini animal erasers that can be pulled apart (these are a craze at her school), mini post-its etc. also loved getting a sponge bag for sleepovers etc. she really wants a boots gift pack of nail varnish for Christmas, and Claire's tokens are a top gift.

Marne · 12/10/2013 20:46
