It seems that I will have to cater for 10 people for 1 week over Christmas, I must be mad, and they are all staying with me and I don't have enough beds ( another issue). Anyway food wise - what to do - what can I cook and pop in the freezer, what one pot food ideas do you have - please, I am a competent cook but the volume is a bit overwhelming at the moment. Prays there are no fussy eaters.

Get everyone to bring food and take turns in the kitchen? Make a big lasagne and have that with bread and salad.

Breakfast is a choice of cereal, toast juice, tea and coffee

Home made soup and sarnies at lunch?

MIL has lots if guests and does this:

Soups in freezer for lunches
Huge potato dauphinoise Boxing Day with cold meat
Some form of buffet tea with bits salad garlic bread etc
Lunch of cheese biscuits & pâté
Stew made and frozen
Lots of quiche
Some pre bought bits from M&S
Lots of mince pies
A turkey curry (you could have a turkey curry buffet in the style of Bridget jones!)

Maybe a slow cooker would be your friend?

MamaBear17 · 10/10/2013 16:54

Lasagne freezes well, Stew and dumplings, Jacket Potatoes, Chilli, Curry are all good one pot meals. Good luck! I hope they offer to take you out for dinner as a thank you! x

Yes - I'm absolutely doing nothing for breakfast - they can all fend for themselves.
I had a slow cooker that got broken in the move, maybe I should replace it.
I hope they take me out too MamaBear17.
Right I will clearly have to post and ask for all the best stew and casserole recipes.

Jools favourite stew is good in this house. A Jamie Oliver receipe.
