Special offer box of Tasting Club Chocolate - can I give it as a present?

I paid £7 for a £26 box of chocolate through some tasting club and then cancelled the membership. Box has come, it said on the website it was Hotel Chocolat chocolates but the box is branded as The Chocolate Tasting Club.

I was planning to give it to step-mum as a Xmas present. Do you think she'll know I'm giving her a cheapo present? Am I better off eating them myself? Grin

Not sure but how long did the chocolate take to come from when you submitted your form?

About a week. Looks a good size box of chocolates and there was also a surprise smaller box of chocs, sadly they were chocolate covered coffee beans and chocolate covered hazelnuts rather than nice ones.

If I was the recipient I wouldn't know what the tasting club was or that it was a cheapo present. I'd be far too busy stuffing my face with chocolates to google it. I think you'll e fine to give them to her.

I think I'll risk it and hope she doesn't google. Thanks.

I'd love it!!! Chocolate is chocolate!

Id be thrilled but id only gift it to someone i usually spent around £10 on. I think if she's "expecting" a £25 gift there's lots of scope for things to go wrong.

My mum wouldn't bat an eeyelid but i wouldn't risk it for mil iyswim

Ok, I did the same. Exactly the same chocolates! But I'm greedy and opened the box and they do have a big schpiel about this being a trial box inside the chocolate menu. Not really suitable for a present but perfectly ok to give as a good contribution if you see the difference?

By the way, the chocolates were AMAZING!!!

Bugger, I'm going to have to eat them aren't I? Thanks for the warning.

And I've been eating horrible coffee bean chocolates all day when I could have opened the lovely chocolates. Grrrrr.
