Recipe for EASY chocolate truffles?

Instead of the usual smelliest/Thorntons etc fare for the teachers and TAs, this year I thought we'd make them something for Christmas god help them

I'm sure I've seen a recipe somewhere which was soooo easy involving chocolate, butter and Amaretto for Truffles or summat

Then I thought I'd put said yummies into pretty cellophane cones, attach home made tags et voila!

Whether or not this idea actually happens is another matter.........

so so so easy.
200g cream cheese/ Phili
350g icing sugar
500g melted dark chocolate
couple of teaspooons of vanilla or your favourite flavouring (orange, mint, brandy, whatever you like)

mix it together. roll into balls. roll into a dusting of your choice, cocoa powder, coconut, chopped nuts, etc.

these are bloody lovely!!

sorry, just re read that- if you want alcohol flavoured ones you'll need more than a couple of teaspoons! a couple of tablespoons would work better

Hi

I do one using amaretti biscuits. Is that what you mean?

Packet of amaretti biscuits.
same weight of unsalted butter
same weight of icing sugar
25g cocoa powder
20ml brandy or OJ
Blitz all this stuff together in a blender
Roll into small balls and freeze.

meanwhile melt some dark chocolate. Dip frozen truffles into dark choc and then cool for a few moments until soft but not wet. Roll in chopped nuts, edible glitter or cocoa powder.

Om nom nom, both of those recipes sound gorgeous and look very very easy for me and my CSE standard cooking skills! Thanks

Look on The guardian website in the "how to make the perfect" section. They have a chocolate truffle tht's very easy to make and bloody delicious

Jamie Oliver's recipe is yum. Made loads a few years ago and gave them as gifts in boxes. Dds teacher asked me where I bought them Smile

any idea how long these might last? (to make as gifts, doubt they'd last long uneaten opened)
